Acerca de esta escucha

How do you go on living when someone you love has died? How is life ever going to be the same again? How do you find the will to carry on? Is there such a thing as moving on?

Every year, millions face the effects of dealing with loss and grief. This can be the result of death, divorce, moving, retirement, or other life events. Since society hasn’t provided effective ways of handling grief, many grievers feel lost and alone.

Grief is a reaction that happens when someone we love or care about dies or leaves. When this happens, a whole host of emotions might overwhelm you. Some of these emotions include feeling sad, angry, confused, or scared. What’s even more frightening is not knowing how to deal with this sudden wave of emotions that have hit you hard like a tsunami.

The pain of losing someone we love cannot be described in words. It feels like your whole world is falling apart. The crushing pain in your chest signals that your heart feels like it is breaking into a million pieces. It feels like the tears will never stop flowing. Your whole world has been turned upside down, and you might even feel like you will never smile again.

There is no right or wrong way to deal with the loss of a loved one. The grieving process is challenging, and it’s different for everyone. It’s not just a matter of coping with a loss, but coping with change - and that takes time. Grief is not something that we want to avoid feeling, either. Grief is part of our journey and human experience. To fight grief is to fight what’s natural. Instead, let grief guide you to be a more powerful being.

This is why I have written this survivor’s manual. How to Deal With Loss, Grief, and Death is your guide to coping with the loss of a loved one and how to find the will to live again.

This book was enormously helpful in walking me through various aspects of grief, and helping me with mind numbing paralytic sorrow. It is full of good, solid advice and is delivered to the listener in a patient and comforting manner.

I have really enjoyed this book it has been amazing and extremely helpful to learn that everything will be okay. That the feelings I feel at times are part of my feeling and that I have to learn to get the help I need. Or the things I need to do to help me cope. I have taken many notes, never imagined I had to need certain things or books to help me heal after losing my little brother.

at only 18 days from the passing of my dear wife, I researched/found this audio book..... I listen to it daily. even at work, I listen thru headphones.... I rewind to chapter 4 and listen again... then I rewind again and listen again....... not sure if it is helping or not, but I do NEED to keep it playing..... Constantly..... in the car, at home...... thanks to the author for continuing to speak to me... and it does, it speaks to me.

This was quite a useful little book but I did not find anything in it that I did not already know or techniques that I had not tried. If you are not already familiar with breathing strategies and meditation then this may help you.

it's a good book, however he only talking about those who grieve death. what about when you end a relationship, or children move out of the home.

It's nice to know someone out there understands. It's only been 2 1/2 weeks since my mom passed away and I'm struggling to make sense of it all. I feel lost and abandoned, although I'm an adult with 3 children of my own, but I still relied heavily on my mom's input and acceptance. This is by far the hardest thing I've ever been through.

I felt like the author was pulling the words out of my mind and heart. It was everything I needed to hear to know that what I’m experiencing is normal and what I feel is ok. 3 months into my grief journey and I’m grateful I found comfort in this book because that’s hard to come by during a time like this

Very comforting
