Loved it

Such a great read/listen. It was beautiful to see Cara’s growth by the end of the book.

The Narration

The narrator did so amazing. I felt the hurt, confusion, love, and strength in her voice. Reading this on my own would’ve cheated me out of this experience. Her performance added dimensionality to an already beautiful novel.

Narrator award!

You just fall in love with Cara Romaro! Wonderful narration, you are pulled into Caras life as an immigrant that loses her job in the recession. She is such a complex character and I enjoyed listening to her life and perspective on life.

Best Audiobook I ever heard!

I easily listened all the way through! The story, the narrator, and the touch of authenticity made be laugh, grin, and cry.

A Brilliant One Woman Show!

This narrator went so far and above for this book. It is listening to great theater. The story was so real and raw and the acting impeccable.

The performance really made this book special. She was fantastic! Such an enjoyable, honest and thoughtful story.

Outstanding!

This is probably so much better read as an audio book because I could hear the accents and sounds of Dominicans in Washington Heights. The story was great, full of life, spunk, grit, survival and all that so many immigrants go through in order to make it in America. Cara Romero is at this moment my favorite heroine.

A different way of telling a story and it worked

I found myself trying to find time to hear just 5 more mins. It was a different way of telling a story but it def kept me engaged.
