A favorite when I need a vicarious vacation

My husband and I first read Hotel Pastis over 20 years ago and it was a book we loved to read again. Having the audiobook to enjoy is a delight as well and the story is as fun to listen to as it is to read.

The interweaving of plots is excellent

Strangely enough, I, a law abiding citizen, found myself rooting for the bank robbers. Peter Mayle's description of the food and scenery and local characters is well honed and absorbing

Another Mayle book in a similar vein to the others. Once again, I want to change my life and move to a new country.

Great little tale

Another Peter Mayle take on Englishman makes good in Provence, but amusing and engaging nonetheless, with his sharp wit Eye for details and Provence and its people as the backdrop.
