Very Insightful!

This book further expands on its introductory titles to a more hands on and practical approach to hoodoo. I am very glad it goes into protection work as well as detailing what herbs can be used for what working. Always great to see authentic practitioners sharing their knowledge about this African American tradition.

Straightforward

I loved this take on Hoodoo. It gave a straightforward approach without the stigma surrounding Hoodoo.

An important addition to the series

This book, and the other two that make up the trilogy (so far?) serves up Hoodoo knowledge in a smart, easy to read package.

There aren’t a lot of authors that I trust for hoodoo, so when the authors I do trust put out a new book, it’s pretty much guaranteed that I’ll be picking up whatever they put out. Angelie Belard is definitely one of those authors.

This book, I do have to say is my favorite of the three, protection magic is so big, way bigger than the few books that are out there about it could possibly handle. I love that each spell has a “star” ingredient to learn about, so you can go on and work with it again.

Excellent!

I listened to this book on Audible and loved it so much that I purchased it in paperback. The first few chapters go into some detail about the history of Hoodoo and how and why someone mainly choose to practice it. The spells are simple with items that are fairly easy to get your hands on. This book is appropriate for both beginners and people who are already familiar with the craft.

Good Audiobook!

Audio book included a nice basic introduction including distinction of Hoodoo and Voodoo. After describing basic procedures to get one's practice rolling, the author began detailing different recipes for a wealth of uses.
The easy-to-follow instructions along with easy integration into my other practices was a selling point for me.
Narration was good, smooth and easy to follow along.

A really ensightful book

The narration was absolutely perfect. one of my favorite parts. I love how she combined anecdotes and family history into the story to give the practices of hoodoo character. I learned things I thought I'd already known. And learned better ways to do things I already knew how to do. I'm interested in seeing more from the author.

Hoodoo War and Peace

I already had this book in its digital format so I knew what content would be covered. I must say that it is a different experience and understanding when you listen to it in an audio version, especially while doing the work. I recommend this book in all it’s versions but if you like to feel like you’re being taught and or in a teacher student setting, I definitely recommend the audiobook.

Good book.

This was a good book. It teaches good baths to take to remove a hex. Instructions on how to make hotfoot powder and dominating oil. How to remove a third party and all kinds of justification. She explains what protection is, how it’s really used to stop people from gossiping. Also how to protect your home with floor washing. All kinds of great information to learn in this book. Thank you.
