good book

it's good

if I'd read this first, I might've liked it a lot more, but it reminded me too much of stray cat strut in so many ways and I liked that series a lot than this one so far. it's still good though.

Pretty awesome combat and it’s funny!

Pretty great start to a new series! It was funny and has good combat! It’s a pretty good idea how humans would probably react to suddenly getting powers and I can’t wait for the next one!

Loved it.

It had just the right amount of system for an audiobook, a great style that I enjoyed, and some world building that has me excited for the next!

where has this been hiding?

ok so usually books in this genre are all character building and no actual story. this has both! I found this in the freebie section and listened to it at work, then bought the rest of the series. great listen!

Surprisingly well plotted

I like that neither the protagonist nor the antagonist are OP or static in their thinking or strategy. I also like the depth of side characters and factions as independent entities that aren't 2D cutouts that only exist to oppose or help the MC. Interested in the next story. BTW if you want a fantasy variant that is similar in having a world where people other than the MC aren't just 2D NPCs try Salvos series

Pretty basic format.

The story is fun and there is nothing wrong with it, it just doesn't have anything i haven't seen a million times with every other litrpg story. MC with mystery powers beyond everyone else..check. Obligatory powerless friends with hints of becoming more in the future....check. Sidekicks who COULD be just as powerful as the MC but conveniently aren't.... check. Snarky lesbian female lead that has issues with authority. who is obsessed with makeing only themselves powerful and completely ignore how they could help others get stronger....Check, check and SUPER Check. Sigh, again there is nothing really wrong with it, i just have seen it so many times that i pretty much predicted this whole story from chapter 1. If you are new to this genre it is a great jumping off point. If not.... you probably won't hate it, but you will likely forget about it as soon as you are done.

Start with the performance, the narrator was overall really good but the audio production needs help. Basically just need to have the performance normalized. Sometimes the voices are super loud and a moment later very quiet.

The story is not bad but pretty predictable. The characters are okay, but the MC is pretty lame. Some side characters that are largely pointless. was pan intended to be comic relief or something? All of the things you would basically expect are there. No real surprises.

Really interesting and im looking foward for more.

This book is realy good, Kinda caught me by surprise. Great work on this and im totaly waiting for more.

Deserves a Lot of Praise

There was just so much Fun in this book. J.j. slammed it out the park writing these characters. Stakes always felt present, Anya is a blast and her "supporting" cast absolutely dunks on expectations. this was def a hard line to walk but it cleared flawlessly in so many ways.
