Stay in the Light

The lack of any sort of pause transitioning between scenes made followong the groups confusing. Other than that one issue the narrator was fine. The story was creepy, gory and interesting but the ending fell completely flat for me.

Now I'm overthinking!

First off, I feel like it took a little time for the narrator to find the right cadence for this book. I almost switched to reading it instead of listening, but he got better, thankfully.

Now let's talk about the salt of the book, you know, the seasoning. Hollow comes from a series of books, but this is the first of his books I've read and it held well as a stand alone. I didn't have to know anyone backstory to follow these people into the nightmare.

What did I learn? If I'm in a place I'm not comfortable, DO NOT broadcast my fears, ANY fears, through my thoughts. (tink tink) Keep my fears locked deep inside. Also, things or PEOPLE may not always be what our who they seem. Great. It's this really my husband next to me? (poke poke)

I like books that make me think and that I can learn from. Definitely worth burrowing into.

Very intense story!

As if I didn't have enough reasons to never go venturing into caves, Mike Salt has just given me some I never even thought I would have to consider. This story is The Descent meets As Above So Below, and it scared me more than it had any right to.
