Audible Plus review. Dual POV. Book 2 of 3 in the Billionaire Alpha series. Joe Arden does an excellent job. Trigger warnings: step-brother/step-sister relationship; employer/employee relationship.

Damon (31, 8 years older than Bethany) & Bethany move from a physical relationship to engaged within 3 weeks of meeting. Damon's dad married Bethany's mom.

Quite frustrating

I like how we get to see Damon’s perspective. I know old habits died hard, however, if he wasn’t so cold and shooting up anger at the wrong time, his lover wouldn’t get him wrong. He wants truth yet he doesn’t tell the truth all the time. Bethany is a 22 yo woman so I understand her maturity level isn’t so great. She has insecurities and needs constant reminder. I think she does good when asking him about things but he comes off so cold and mean with his words. Sigh…both characters are so frustrating.

Steamy

Absolutely loved this story. I can’t wait to see what happens next. Slow burn but steamy scenes.

This book just wow. What an emotional roller coaster. It had me hooked from start to finish. That ending had me in tears. Gah. I hope book 3 gives some happiness!!

This is a how to break up book. I finally got over it not being a wearwolf book though.
Really ready for some sexy books with all the side characters.

The level of insecurity of Bethany

Overall, the story was good and enjoyable enough, but the level of insecurity and anxiety that Bethany has throughout the story was a bit exhausting. No matter what happened she questioned the relationship and Damian’s feelings at every turn. He’d reassure her and she’d be ok then something silly would happen and she’s questioning again.

Spoilers: I got through Book 1 ok, but by this one with how quick everything went in the relationship was very unrealistic. Within a week or two they love each other and she’s thinking how they should move in together and he’s declaring to everyone that he loves her. He’s also buying a ring within 2-3 weeks of being together. I’m not necessarily slow burn or dragging out a romance, but this was too fast.

Also, it’s great that they allegedly are down to earth people, but I highly doubt billionaires are moving appliances that are being donated and decorating wedding venues personally.

Love Romance Books

So to start off I love the narrator his voice is so smooth and easy to listen to. But I will say Bethany is so insecure and not saying she doesn’t have a right to be, but dang it just gets to be to much all her thoughts of insecurity. When she is feisty that’s when the books gives the story some character and makes it so much more enjoyable. I love Ali and her books but pls stop making the girls so weak give them some back bone and take no sh$& off no one even a hot sexy man!!!!

the characters are interesting. The environment is easy to get into

I like the descriptive language used, but the will we/won't we might be a little bit over done.

I felt the character Bethany was too needy for my liking. Which annoyed me and almost made me stop listening.
