In life, we have moments in time in which we have an opportunity before us to make a change or respond to a situation. According to D. Michael Lindsay, president of Gordon College, what follows these instances will depend intrinsically on the decisions we make and the actions we take. These are what he calls "hinge moments" - opportunities to open (or close) doors to various pathways of our lives.
Lindsay maintains that getting these moments right can change our lives for the better, and getting them wrong can pose problems for years to come: "Some transitions have a disproportionate impact on our happiness, our contribution to society, and our family's well-being."
In this book, Lindsay shares faith-based stories of success and failure from his 10-year study of 550 PLATINUM leaders. He has charted seven phases of transition, providing both practical and spiritual insights for making the most of each stage. In uncertain and tumultuous times, there is no better advantage than wisdom gained early.

Hinge Moments
A primer to help you understand the value of your life in both good and not-so-good circumstances. I liked the various steps outlined throughout, and tried to take notes, but it was just too difficult to keep pausing and restarting the recording. I suppose this is an inherent limitation of the audible media platform.
Would be super-helpful to include ancillary material online, as refresher for the key hinge moments and their respective behaviors and responses.
The people used as examples are common knowledge and I felt detracted from the uniqueness of the topic.
The narration seemed a bit saccharine.

Excellent message and narration!
This book is a wonderful framework for understanding and embracing transitions throughout our lives. I first heard of it as a reference in a Forward Day by Day meditation and it so moved me, that I got the audio book and listened to it in one day.😊

Perfect timing
I read this book as I was living through my own transition, my Hinge Moment. Very practical to help successfully navigate change in all life stages—from high school or college graduation to mid life career change— and gives language to stages in the process.
