In 2012, Arizona State University established the Center for Science and the Imagination to bring together writers, artists, and creative thinkers with scientists, engineers, and technologists to cultivate and expand on "moon shot ideas" that inspire the imagination and catalyze real-world innovations.

SciFi that is very entertaining and scientific

Would you listen to Hieroglyph again? Why?

Very entertaining fiction that uses current science linked with current snd potential technologies... then provides links to actual discussions with the authors, scientists, and collaborators!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES!

Plenty of new ideas and inspirations in here!

Uplifting visions of where we can take our civilization. Some stories better than others, but the spirit running through them all is brilliant and sorely needed today.

thought provoking

Lot of well written stories that engaged me in the problems, and possible solutions, for the near furure.

all upper stories, no foundation

typical liberal idealism without consideration for hard choices upon which ideals must be built. notably, no type of economic system currently in wide use could support most of these projects. a new type of economic system would have to be developed, and probably a new type of measurement engine underlying it.

Politics are very left

Leftish politics are prominent in many stories. Most aren't much of a story and writing is mediocre. At least two good stories. My favorite was "the man who sold the stars".
