Possible Spoilers:
We get the story of Hannah Beckham, best friend of Cady De Lucca from book 1. Hannah has been hurt since her father died when she was 9, then her mother checked out in depression and grief. But she got a real emotional beat down since her mother remarried when Hannah was 12, and she got 3 evil stepsisters. Her brother Kieran wasn’t around enough to really protect her or even see how much she received in total. While Hannah’s mother was no longer in severe depression, she switched into self-absorption with her new husband. Still alive, but still no longer there for her. When evil stepsister Cat conspired to split Hannah & her first love, Charlie, she moved to Starbrook City to be with her step grandmother.
For years since she presented as Omega, Hannah has tried 23x to find a pack. She’s got a messed up sense of worth to the point I almost stopped reading. But life/fate has one more wallop when at a party for Cady’s pack mate, Titus, she runs when she recognizes Alpha scent matches. But 4 Alphas recognize Hannah’s scent match as their Omega: Titus’ brother Enzo, security guard Austen from book 1, Austen’s foster brother Noah who works for Titus, and Charlie, her childhood sweetheart. A new pack is born especially for Hannah. There’s still several personal roadblocks that they have to overcome, but it’s good to see them through.
The narration is decent.
