Resumen del Editor

A murder. A twisted truth. A fight for survival.

Investigative journalist Meg Dawson is about to be demoted to the graveyard shift unless she can score a big scoop. But, she gets more than she bargained for when a murder case lands in her lap - the victim being an old friend, Sam Vargas. When the police start asking all the wrong questions, both about Sam and her dark past, it's up to Meg to uncover one ugly deed after the next, until she comes face to face with a devastating truth.

Can Meg outsmart a killer who always seems to be one step ahead?

The beginning of another great series by Amy Waeschle

Her Final Mistake by Amy Waeschle is a great read. All of her characters are so believable because they are just regular people struggling to survive. Meg Dawson has great determination to be an outstanding journalist, but she is driven to help those she feels emotionally attached to even if some of the decisions she makes are wrong or put her in danger. Haven’t we all made some less than smart decisions. It’s a compelling mystery that keeps you listening so you can find out what happens next. P.J. Morgan was an excellent choice as narrator. She keeps thing moving and adds just the right amount of change in voices for the characters without being overly dramatic. This made the audiobook even more enjoyable.
As with some of her other books, Amy Waeschle is very skilled in creating compelling stories. The story quality, drama, excitement and mystery make this a book worth listening to. It makes me even more anxious for the next book in the Meg Dawson series which should be soon.

Cringeworthy narration

The narration is cringeworthy. It’s like listening to someone scratch their fingers on a blackboard. The narrator’s tone is overly dramatic with every sentence ending in a sing song cadence with an upward lilt. The story may or may not be good - I absolutely cannot listen a minute longer.
