Gavin Leonard is the worst.
He lives in the best party house off campus at Valley U, overrun by jocks galore.
I live next door, watching Jane Austen adaptations with my sketchbook in hand.
He stays on his side of the fence.
I stay on mine.
Now we're accidentally on a camping trip together, but there's only one tent left.
Gavin Leonard is the worst.
And he's the last guy who broke my heart.

This one follows Violet, Daisy’s roommate, who also happens to live behind the White House (which would be fine, except her ex, Gavin, lives there too). They had a hot-and-heavy relationship sophomore year… until he cheated, and she’s held onto that grudge ever since. But when a friend group camping trip forces them into close proximity, all that lingering sexual tension ignites into something neither of them can ignore.
What I loved about this book is that it moves at a just right pace—not rushed, not dragging. Vi and Gavin’s story isn’t just about rekindling romance; it’s about growth, second chances, and chasing their dreams. The banter? On point. The chemistry? Undeniable. The steam? A solid 3.5/5. And while the HEA was a little predictable (and the epilogue felt a bit generic), I still had so much fun reading this.
Overall, 4/5 stars—a perfect, palate-cleansing read after Onyx Storm. I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series!
