Resumen del Editor

Did you know:

  • Golden retrievers were originally bred as gun dogs to retrieve shot waterfowl during hunting and shooting parties.
  • With five tennis balls, the world record for “Most Tennis Balls Held in the Mouth by a Dog” is held by a golden retriever named Augie.
  • Both US presidents Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan had golden retrievers.

No wonder the former presidents decided to bond with the third most popular dog breed in the USA.

Golden retrievers will not only love you to the max, but they are also extremely smart. Yet, having a golden retriever is like having a highly gifted child. In order to maintain their health and happiness, they need to be challenged the right way. Even if you are not a first-time dog parent, there is a lot to discover once you decide to get a golden retriever.

Your furry friend will surprise you with his extraordinary personality. This is why the average puppy parent book or everything you need to know about dogs book is not enough to accommodate your golden retriever’s needs. Just think about their affinity for water or their special physical constitution. You should know how to deal with physical and behavioral issues in a golden retriever - not just dogs in general.

In What the Golden Retriever Experts Know....That You Don't, you'll discover:

  • Everything from A to Z you need to know about your golden retriever
  • How to stop chewing, biting, jumping, and other behavioral issues
  • The most important commands to be a successful dog parent
  • How to be a good puppy parent and raise a happy, well-behaved dog
  • Practical strategies to deal with misbehavior and aggression
  • How to control your retriever's weight and get rid of the unnecessary spare tire
  • One of the most life threatening diseases in golden retrievers and how to prevent it
  • What to do if your potty training doesn't work because your dog suffers from incontinence
  • The most common traps golden retriever parents fall into and how to avoid them
  • How to read and notice telling signs and always know what your golden retriever needs
  • And much more.

On average, a golden retriever will accompany your life for 10 to 12 years.

During this time, you will develop a deep and loving relationship. Yet just like a romantic relationship between two humans, there are some challenges you need to master to maintain a healthy relationship between you and your golden retriever.

Even if you and your four-legged friend have been together for a while, there might be space to grow and improve the communication between the two of you. If you want to enjoy being a golden retriever parent to the fullest, then scroll up and click the “Add to Cart” button right now.

Packed with good info

This audiobook kind of starts off slow, with information I already knew to be honest (and I'm guessing most of us already know). But I'm assuming the book includes that so you won't get lost even if you're somehow a complete beginner with dogs.

However, after the introduction, I was really impressed with how in-depth they went into where Golden Retrievers came from, their history, and unique traits for this breed I really learned a lot. I thought the chapter on the health risks common to Golden Retrievers is something every responsible dog parent should read.

It's not your typical audiobook, it's more like an audio reference guide/encyclopedia. But it's interesting and I learned a lot - would recommend it to anyone who owns a golden retriever.

Too much marketing and pleading for review

As to content, this book is just okay. I’ve never owned a dog and got this book as an introduction to the puppy we’re planning to buy. That should mean that, by the title, I came away with a bunch of insight. There were some new bits of information, but nothing more than what I could find on a quick google search.

What was REALLY distracting was 1) after every chapter the “narrator” would market the Golden Retriever club and ask you to leave a review. I had to skip ahead over a minute and a half of marketing. At least six time throughout the book content. It was so distracting. And 2) they say this book is narrated by someone named Matthew. I’m assuming Matthew is AI, and if not, I apologize for the disparaging remarks here but “his” pronunciation is wrong on some basic words (i.e. doting pronounced dotting, etc.) many times. It was also so robotically delivered. Can’t believe it was a real human.

Hoping they’ll return my credit.
