Resumen del Editor

On November 22, 1952, 52 American soldiers departed on a C-124 Globemaster plane heading for Anchorage, Alaska. They never made it to their destination. When a rescue was deemed too expensive by the military, these men were left to the Alaskan wilderness and found their untimely demise. 60 years later, their true fate was still unknown to their loved ones and the world.

Instead of living with this uncertainty, Tonja Anderson-Dell decided to take on the government to learn the secret of this disaster and return the bodies of the passengers from the C-124 Globemaster. Tragedy, deception, and the courage to overcome adversity shape an adventure with the purpose of bringing closure to the families of those whose lives were lost.

Left Wanting More!!

This was recommended to me because I Love audiobooks BUT I was Very touched and impressed! I am third generation military (already have one carrying on the tradition) and my heart hurt with the author just as much as I felt like I was a part of the celebrations. The "story" is very REAL, extremely important, and unless it directly effects a particular family (who catches our media attention) is simply overlooked. A bonus for me is that it ends in a way that leaves the door open to receive more as it becomes available. My ONLY complaint is that I Wish the narrator was female. Women in general are often overlooked for their contributions to not just the military BUT to military families who serve as well. Nothing is lost in the story BUT I feel it would have been enhanced by a woman telling her story. What this author did for sooo many families outside her own is truly amazing.
