On September 11, 2001, Lisa Beamer was thrust into the national spotlight after her husband, Todd, became an American hero by preventing terrorist hijackers from almost certainly flying United Flight 93 into the White House or the United States Capitol. Instead, Todd led a group of passengers to resist the hijackers, forcing the plane to crash into a Pennsylvania field. Spending a Few Hours with a Friend

While listening to this book, I felt like I was spending time with a dear friend, trying to understand how she is able to cope with the devastating, personal loss she experienced on September 11, 2001. This book is so much more than a story of loss and survival. It is a book of faith in God and the use of this faith in times of crisis to find peace and purpose even in the face of adversity. She shares her life, and that of her husband's family, their courtship and marriage, and then the events that led up to and followed September 11th. I cried bitter tears as I listened to the descriptive insights to her road to acceptance and how faith in God's plan for each of us can get you through anything. It even helped me get over some of the anger I harbored for so long for the terrorists who so willingly ripped apart families and friends in the act of hate. I am grateful to Lisa Beemer for sharing her story and reminding me that God is in charge and will provide what we need to endure anything life brings. It is a story that I will remember and draw from the rest of my life. It's a fantastic read.

Faith in times of grief.

This book is a good listen. It is Todd and Lisa Beamer's story, of heroism, loss and faith in God. It is from a Christian perspective and is a must read/listen for those who have lost loved ones. I loved it.

Inspiring

I loved this story. For me it was especially inspiring to know it was a true story. I was inspired to live a life of service to God and to make a difference to the people I meet and work with. And also to my family

A Testimony To Love

Not at all what I was expecting. If you are not a Christian please keep reading. I was initially a little phased as I have a deep belief in G-d but my faith and that of Lisa Beamer's is 'miles apart'. It was a struggle to get through the first few chapters. However was it worth it? YOU BET IT WAS!

This is a 'little' tale about a dreadful event on 9/11 but a HUGE volume about a man, a woman, a family, their past, their earthly LOVE and their LOVE EVERLASTING.

Whatever happens Lisa will carry her husband in her soul until they are reunited again.
