In the weeks since he moved to Ghost, Oregon, Maz Amani’s life has gotten so much better.

Charming small town? Check. Queen Anne beauty of a house? Check. Project organizing the fascinating papers of Ghost’s founding family? Check. Adorable handyman who might morph into more than a friend? Check. Rafts of friendly townies? Check.

And did he mention the house?

Sure, there’s the occasional professional annoyance—ghostwriters can’t always be picky about the gigs they take in the name of keeping their cat in kibble. But on the whole, things are awesome.

If only Maz felt like he deserved this mountain of good fortune. Because seriously? What had he ever done to earn it?

Zip. Zilch. Nada.

He’d never even heard of Uncle Oren or his life partner, Avi, who’d predeceased Oren by a decade. Yet Maz had inherited all their worldly goods.

Including, you know, the house.

Maz is determined to pay those men back for transforming his life—and he knows just how to do it.

By transforming Avi’s afterlife.

Because Avi? Yep, still around, sharing the house with Maz and putting the ghost in Ghost.

Ghostlighted is the second in the Ghost Townies small town paranormal mystery series. While the books contain romantic elements, they are not romances, and are intended to be listened to in order, because, you know, spoilers.

I don't think there's a man more kindhearted than Maz Amani, Or as stubborn. When Taryn gives him the royalty check for Avi's lost manuscript, he doesn't want to touch the money, because it's Avi's. Avi reminds him that he's dead and that Maz was his heir 'once removed'. A kind gesture of offering to send Tia Sophia and Felicia to Boston for "Liam's" Harvard graduation sets off a chain of events which land Ricky in jail for attempted murder.
Maz treats Avi like any other housemate. He's always considerate of Avi's feelings. Even going so far as to purchase ghost hunting equipment which would help Avi write his next novel and maybe be able to communicate with other people besides Maz and Gil the cat.
Greg Boudreaux does an incredible job with Maz and all his internal dialogs (neuroses). The narration was so smooth and relaxing.. Also, nice job with Ricky and his five thousand cousins. After listening to both Ghostridden (book one) and Ghostlighted, I found that the mystery in book two was more convoluted, and it kept me on the edge of my seat (even after having read the book first.).
There's so much more mystery to solve. Will Maz and Avi figure out what's preventing ghosts from non-living in the town of Ghost? Will Orrin come back if they do? (I'm not looking forward to that happening. It's probably going to be a heartwrencher/ must have tissues affair).
I received an advanced audio book from the author and this is my review.

First of all. I love these characters. Max and Ricky and let’s not forget the house ghost! Such an enjoyable story. Secondly, I love Greg Boudreaux. He is such an amazing narrator and never disappoints with his characterizations. Highly enjoyable all around!

I love it!

Ghostlighted is the second book in the Ghost Townies series. This series is best read in order. We are back with Max and Ricky for another adventure in the town of Ghost Oregon. This was another fun book in the series. The romance between Max and Ricky is sweet but very slow burn. I don't want to give any spoilers so just know I enjoyed seeing old and new characters in this story. I can't wait to see what E.J. Russell comes up with next for this series. If get the audio narration, Greg Boudreaux does a wonderful job of narrating this series. He makes the change in characters seamlessly. I can't wait to listen to the next book. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

I'm really enjoying this series! It is more about Maz and Avi than Maz and Ricky but the romance is building. I had figured out the culprit but not the depth of the betrayal. Definitely recommend this series.
I listened to this on audio and Greg did a fantastic job as always!
