He thought he knew everything about his husband's murder. He was wrong.

Detective Josiah Raine witnessed his husband's brutal murder seven years ago. He was there that blood-soaked night, and he knows what happened. The murderer is long-since dead. The case closed.

But now, Josiah is about to discover a devastating revelation that will drag him back into the darkness he's fought so desperately to escape. Will it shatter his life, or help him build a new one?

Dark water. Deadly secrets. Dangerous love.

London, 2095. Sixty years after rising seas drowned the old world, a corrupt system of servitude keeps the new one afloat. Alexander Lytton is now a pawn in his captor's hands. Stripped of his freedom and forced into a life of prostitution in Ghost Eye City, he clings to the memory of who he once was.

Meanwhile, Josiah's dogged pursuit of justice forces him to confront the truth about his husband's murder—and his own buried grief. What he uncovers shatters everything he thought he knew.

In a searing climax, the consequences of two nights of violence, years ago, finally collide—and nothing will ever be the same again.

Dive into Ghost Eye, the exciting second novel in the four-part MM murder mystery romance series, Dark Water. Mature content suitable for adults only.

Once again I was on the edge of my seat. Matt Addis not only has an incredible voice that is easy and enjoyable to listen to but his wide range of emotions and spark / energy that connected me to each and every character gave me chills.

High Praise for both Xanthe Walter and Matt Addis for bringing us this incredible series!

Please make sure to read CW / TW as this story contains dark subject matter and maybe triggering for some!

When I say slow burn, I mean SLOW burn and I absolutely lived for it. The tension in this book is unreal. I was practically salivating waiting for the first kiss, and then suddenly everything ignites at once💥💥💥. The pacing kept me guessing at every turn, and I loved not knowing what was coming next.

I don’t think I’ve ever despised a villain more than Mr. George Tyler (and Alex’s father is right there with him 😡). In book one I honestly couldn’t stand Alex, but now? Understanding what he’s been through hits completely differently 🥺. His character development is chef’s kiss.

Josiah, though 🥰what a breath of fresh air. He sees everything for what it is, and the fact that he clocked George Tyler from the start? I could’ve applauded. I was swoony right there with Alex 😍. Did I mention how much I hate that man?

I don’t usually gravitate toward murder mysteries, but for this one? Best believe I’m seated and fully invested.

Great story and narration continues

I loved this book so much. It was a bit tougher of a read than the first. I don’t know if its bc we really are seeing who Alex truly is so his emotional and physical torment is harder to bare or what but there is very good pay offs through the hard parts. I can’t wait for book 3 😭

Original story and very compelling

I’m at a loss for words. I thought I would be able to handle this book, but boy was I wrong.

How much pain can someone endure without breaking? My God, Alexander must be the strongest character I’ve ever read. He has gone through the most painful and unimaginable things a human being could possibly experience.

I struggled so much listening to this book but I just couldn’t put it down. I confess I’m a certifiable masochist because that’s the only explanation for putting myself through this.

The people that have hurt Alexander better suffer a very painful, S L O W death. They deserve to suffer in the same way they made my poor baby suffer. And I even still that wouldn’t be enough to make up for it.

Xanthe, I don’t know if I love you or hate you. The jury still out on that😅

I have a feeling our suffering is only beginning. Lord have mercy on our mental and emotional health 😂

I’m speechless

I've really enjoyed this story, the rhythm is relentless, you can't stop listening as the story progresses at a very fast pace. We keep bouncing from present to past as the real story, and the depth of the connection between Alex and Josiah, is slowly revealed. I must admit that my feelings towards the main characters have changed with this second book. whereas in the first one I could not empathize with any of them, it has changed completely now, and I find myself deeply invested in their story...

a page turner
