A summer job at a lake-town resort brings together two women with an unlikely connection in this new contemporary romance by USA Today bestselling author Ashley Herring Blake.

April Evans’ life is in shambles. She’s had to close her tattoo shop in Clover Lake and she’s subletting her house to cover her mortgage. And her love life? Nonexistent ever since Elena, her ex-fiancée, left her for a younger woman three years ago. When she is asked to teach a summer art class at the town’s new resort called Cloverwild, April jumps at the opportunity, especially since the job comes with boarding. She’s sure that this is the silver lining she needs . . . until she meets her cabinmate: Daphne Love, the woman who stole her ex-fiancée. And even worse, it’s clear Daphne has no idea who April is.

Daphne Love is cursed in, well, love. She thought she’d found the unconditional love she craved in her girlfriend, Elena, but now she’s single again and utterly brokenhearted. When her friend hooks her up with a summer gig as an art instructor at a swanky resort in New Hampshire, Daphne feels optimistic for once. If only she had a roommate and coworker who didn’t seem to hate her on sight.

Their already-tense relationship gets even shakier when April and Daphne find themselves competing for a rare opportunity to showcase their art in a London museum. But slowly, barriers begin to fall, and an inexplicable allure keeps drawing them closer, leaving them to wonder if the perfect picture they’re looking for can only be made with each other.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Blake's endearing and believable second Clover Lake romance pus the enemies-to-lovers and forced proximity tropes to excellent use...It's an absolute delight to watch the relationship between these endearingly flawed and dynamic characters gradually evolve as they put aside their differences and bond over their shared love of art. The result is a well-paced, tension-filled sapphic romance that doubles as a celebration of personal growth and healing."—Publishers Weekly, starred review

“Blake’s new Clover Lake title explores two scorned lovers learning to trust again, crafting vulnerable, real relationships with a fair share of steamy moments…A cozy black cat/golden retriever romance.”—Kirkus Reviews

"Blake’s second Clover Lake book (after Dream On, Ramona Riley) features a queer slow-burn romance and found family. Readers will cheer on the protagonists as they struggle to rebuild their lives and accidentally fall in love."—Library Journal

I liked the first half of the story but the second half was rushed, especially the last hour. Out of all the authors books this ending is less to be desired. I'm happy for Daphne and April but note sure if I like it.

A tale of different stories

I love this author's other books and I assumed id love this one just as much but it just doesn't feel as full and complete of a story as the others do. the character development for Daphne feels a little lackluster and like her story is rushed. I also dont love the enemies to lovers trope so that could be playing into it here. all that said, I still love the author's other works and love how intertwined they all are and the bit of 4th wall breaking.

Feels rushed

Love this series and this author! Can’t wait for the next in the series about Sasha

Perfect

I am really enjoying this Clover Lake series! And while I liked “Dream On, Ramona Riley”, I enjoyed this one even more! The premise was interesting, I thought the execution was spot on, and I really felt for both characters. Yes, they were a little immature, but honestly it’s understandable with both of their limited life experiences. I think the narrator was a perfect fit for the characters. Looking forward to Sasha’s book in the next installment!
