Did you know that you may have been sitting on a big ol’ pile of ash for most of your adult life? What’s the deal with ash, and why am I telling you to get off of it?

You see, ashes are all that remain after something is completely burned and destroyed by fire. For some, it’s a relationship, for others it’s your self-worth which was destroyed because of what somebody said or did to you. In ancient times, ash was used as the international symbol for loss, pain, and suffering. People would cover themselves in it to let others know what they were going through. We may not wear ash on our bodies today, but we sure do carry it around with us. Have you ever wondered why you are the way you are? Have you ever stopped to think about why you’re so afraid to step out and do what you’ve always wanted to do or to be who you’ve always wanted to be?

Like you, I too was sitting on my ash! I allowed what happened in the past to dictate who I had become and limit what I could be. The day I discovered what was in my pile of ash, was the day I was able to confront and conquer the lies I had come to believe about myself because of the actions of others. There’s only one way; to move forward. There’s only one way to be free of the pain and shame that you have been carrying.

With all the love I can muster, from the bottom of the heart, these are the four words that are the key to your future and freedom…get off your ash!
