Great timeskip between Gears 4 and Gears 5.

Great story that fills in alot of what happened between each game. really enjoyed it.

Great introduction into Gears 5!

this was a great bridge between Gears 4 and 5. The audio book version has the voice actress who played Anya and she does an amazing job. Can't wait to see where the franchise goes bext!

I really liked Nan's work narrating this book, she made the story have a believable flow to it !!

Amazing continuation of the Gears Saga

When I heard Jason Hough was taking the helm for Ascendance I couldn't have been happier. I LOVED his Dire Earth series, which I recommend to everyone that enjoys apocalyptic science fiction. Gears of War: Ascendance brings the same superb and action packed storytelling. This book is emotional and moves like a burst from a Lancer. Highly recommended!

Inbetween Gears 4 & 5

A good read for a better explanation at what happened in between the two installments of the series. Learning more of how the various non COG/Stranded groups survived and fought back made for an interesting read.

The Perfect Bridge

This was the perfect bridge from Gears 4 into Gears 5. I listened/read this book before playing Gears 5 and it definitely made the Gears 5 story more enjoyable knowing the backstory. It was also cool having Anya Stroud herself narrate the story. However, she does not make Oscar sound anything like himself, which was slightly upsetting because he is such a unique character. With that being said though, the book was a great read and a great listen for Gears fans! Would definitely recommend to others.

definitely ready for gears of war 5 now

loved this story which starts right after gears of war 4 to the lead up to gears of war 5
took one star off for performance because she doesn't know how Cole train is.

I liked this narrator better than the old books. she's not as monatone... It defeantly fills in the blanks before 5.

amazing book. not the best narrator

I love this book it was great but the narrator didn't fit this book. there is alot of male voices, but the narrator uses pretty much the same voice for everyone.
As for the story it take place pretty much immediately after the gears 4 game and fills the void between 4 and 5.
