I can't help but wonder more about Malena and Yvonne in the last book of the series Hope we hear more.

was amazing from start to finish by the time the book was finished I was ready for some more.
this family is intriguing incestuous and religious no matter what age you are this is still a powerful cocktail.

OooOooOoo! The SECRETS!

This book was good! Seeing the softer side of Olivia and the reasons for why she is the way she is. This was so good. The performance was great as well. Can’t wait til the next.

so the grandmother is a decent character?

Goes right in line with the previous books in this series. Follows the storyline of Olivia, the grandmother. Surprisingly, she is an almost likeable character. I'm loving this series.

Wonderfully Narration! A must read for anyone who is a fan of “Flowers in The Attic!” I read these books years ago and I was thrilled to learn of this book FINALLY getting its own audio edition. I have listened to the complete series in audiobook and you should too.

As a side note: The new Lifetime movie “Flowers in The Attic: The Origin” for which “Garden of Shadows” is based steers so far the book it’s ridiculously disappointing.
I am currently watching & it’s a good little TV movie ONLY IF you have NEVER READ THE BOOK. Anyone that has read the book prior to seeing the movie know EXACTLY what I’m talking about.

I truly wished the movie stayed remotely close to the source material sadly it did NOT.

Olivia in physical description & temperament is nothing at all portrayed on tv as in the book. I do understand TV movies do stray from novels but to delve that far from the author’s vision… “An Abomination!”

Great narration! I always liked the story

This Narrator has been my absolute favorite! I never thought about listening to someone’s reading voice until Audible! A reading voice is much different than a regular speaking voice. It has to be pleasant in the way that it doesn’t distract from the story and almost makes you forget another person is reading it to you rather than the words just manifest into your conscious self. I am sure I’m explaining that wrong 😑.
I have read VC Andrews a million times, starting from the age of 12 or so and always liked the stories. As an adult looking back, I’m surprised how taboo the subject matter is and especially the number of people I find out who also read her books in their preteen years! We all seem to be relatively normal…Congrats all! I think most of us were advanced readers for our ages and this was drama & romance that were “safe” because it was very unlikely that anything remotely like any of that would be a part of our lives. Big, fancy houses, beautiful dresses, beautiful people, having someone wait on you hand & foot…it’s all like a soap opera (if anyone knows what those are anymore) in book form! Of course, the subject matter is more sensitive today than in the 80’s I think but if you read the entire book and understand the why…then you get it. Not to condone but to understand cause and effect.
Ok! Sorry I have went on & on. I recommend you read the entire series (look online for the order/additional characters book series etc). And whether you saw any of the movies or not, don’t skip a book! Happy Listening! Many Blessings 🙏🇺🇸

Heartbreaking Drama

the twists and turns of the story. i hadn't read a V.C. Andrews book in a while but getting back into one was easy

A well narrated book!

This book does not seem to be a thriller. It started well but then I listened to full book hoping there will be some twist or turn or suspense, but nothing. It was just day to day life of a married couple with their love and struggles. I was expecting it to be a psychological thriller. It is neither psychological nor thriller.
