Well written

This was such an incredible story—not just about basketball, but also about the culture and the struggles people faced during that time.

Much more than a basketball book.

This book is also a deep dive into the very beginning of basketball, and how Canadian at the Springfield YMCA in Massachusetts came up with a game that is become popular all over the world. This book also does a great job of going into what the Germans did to create a sort of Potomkin village to hide the true nature of Nazism. The book also does not shy away from pointing out the racism and antisemitism that was alive and very well in the United States. At that time, encapsulated by Avery Brundage., Who at the time was the head of the United States, Olympic committee, and who would end up becoming the head of the international Olympic committee until 1972. This was simply a very excellent book.
