The story of the Navaho, and other native American tribes, code talkers has not been sufficiently shared by the tribes themselves. The story is appropriate for older children and young adults, and could be used to open a dialog about the lost experiences and voices of other groups, and the need to respect all people as fellow human beings. I could not find on Internet if the narrator is a native Navaho speaker, but I assume he is, because otherwise would be disrespectful to the codetalkers' "sacred language." Inclusion of Navaho words, phrases, sentences and conversations made the book come alive for me

Interesting story told in authentic voice

I really like this book although I did not realize that it was a fictional book that had a lot of facts. I know a lot of people said it was a children's book but growing up around natives it seem like the way natives told stories very interesting.

good book very interesting nice short read
