The story had potential but an editor should have worked harder. AI shouldn't read books!

I honestly was really loving the storyline but it felt like the author wrote it using chat gpt. metaphors and similes were widely overused, sometimes multiple in one sentence. MAYBE it could have been saved if a real person read it but with an AI sounding writing style plus the AI voice that didn't know tone ... I had to stop listening a little before halfway through.
