Loved it !! this story. the narrator is so fantastic it's like your really there!! good overall

A little confusing

Is it a ghost/paranormal story, or a murder mystery/thriller, or a slow-burn romance, or super sisters adventure?!? It's actually all of them but master of none. It seemed longer than the 6 hours and meandered on occasion, but was still compelling enough to listen all the way through to an end that didn't really "end." Yes, some plot lines were brought to light but overall, no conclusion. Book 2?

Fractured Legacy

This is an interesting tale dealing with paranormal investigations. The way things unfolded definitely kept my interest... while things started out fairly simple, they quickly escalated.

I would be very interested in seeing where Skye Callahan would take things as a series.

Gwendolyn Druyor did a great job with the narration. Very entertaining!

A Supernatural Thriller With Firebrand MC

This book was pretty good - not excellent, but not terrible either. It was a rather quick read as well. For a supernatural story, the story elements played heavily on the human reaction and experience, rather than hone in on the supernatural entities. I really liked the story following this route, as we were able to get inside the head of the MC and her sister. While I did enjoy, I do not believe I was the target audience for this. I would still recommend to any fan of supernatural thriller stories.

Good Read

Fractured Legacy (Fractured Legacy #1) was a good read by Skye Callahan. Kaylyn is a paranormal investigator who is excited to investigate the Teague Hotel. This is a beautiful historic in Chatham, Ohio with a rough past. She screws up a "pick-up" at the local historical society, to retrieve an occult object with unknown powers. Because of this, her new boss threatens to fire her and put an end to her career she's dreamed about her whole life. He decides to give her one more chance but everything continues to go terribly wrong. She experiences blackout and unexplainable dreams. There are fires and unrelenting attacks on her mind, body, and soul. She has to convince everyone around her that the threat isn't just in her head. I enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by the author.

I wanted more detail.

Overall I enjoyed this novel, but I would've liked more detail and a bit more characterization. The story introduces Kaylyn and Cole, sisters who work for a nebulously described company that investigates paranormal kerfuffles. It feels like Cole is moved off stage pretty quickly so that Kaylyn can develop a relationship with their new boss, who has been sent to potentially fire them for not living up to their potential, which also feels thinly established in the story. I suspect that a lot more details on the characters, the company, the work they've done, etc. will be forthcoming in the series, but part of the job of a first book in the series is to set up enough information about the main characters that you get invested in them. This book is right on the line for me regarding character investment. I might grab the next in the series, but might not.

More would be great!

Kaylyn and her sister Cole work for a secret paranormal investigation branch of the government. Sworn to secrecy it makes their personal lives difficult, particularly for Kaylyn. She is under investigation when a new boss suddenly takes over and changes everything. Before Kaylyn can mount a decent defense she is under attack, from within the organization and without. Soon she and her new boss find themselves working together and even becoming friends. I really enjoyed this story and would love to see more in this series! A nice mix of mystery, ghosts, demons and potentially some romance. I received a free review copy of this book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Cliff Hanger

Fractured Legacy all in all is a good story but it leaves you with more questions than answers. The storyline gives so much information in certain parts yet not enough in others because it is so undefined. I highly doubt I would listen to part 2 because part 1 left me cold. I received this book from Audiobooks Unleashed and this is my honest unbiased review.
