This story is my favorite!! What a great story about two people who shouldn't fit but do

Not my favorite story!

It took a while to figure out all the characters and their place in the story, it was a bit confusing!. I must admit that while finding most of Ms. Burrowes books delightful this one was a bit on the boring side! James Langtons narration was, as usual, just wonderful which is why my rating jumped from a three to a four star. Don't think Ill bother listening to this book a second time.

Delightful

I really enjoy this series. The story flows at a nice pace and the characters are well-developed. Can’t wait to see what happens to the other family members as they find their perfect mates in future books.

it was a nice story with a good plot and some good twists and it was very easy to listen to.

I read or listen to every one of her books I can find, and I have yet to be disappointed in any part of them!

Keep replaying because it’s that good

Strong woman teaches the hero to see beyond the obvious. Then is terrified when he starts really looking at her & her family. Narrator does a fabulous job of letting me lose myself in the story. Well worth a credit.

Wonderful story with great characters

Grace Burrowes is a talented and creative writer. Her stories are complex and entertaining. Her characters are immensely real. James Langton does an amazing job of interpreting Burrowe's story.

This book was very enjoyable. I have never read a book that delt with dukes and accountants. The different character background was a nice change

Gotta love a number crunching, auditing heroine

I accidently started this book before realizing it was the third in a series, but about an hour in I figured out that I was clearly missing something. I stopped and found the first two books, so when I came back to this one it made more sense.

As I commented in my review for book 2, the layout of these stories leaves me quite baffled. I would have expected to go from the Duke to his sisters and brother (books 4-6), and then to the cousin (book 2) and then to other characters we met along the way (like this auditor or even Ned). But once you get past that, I had to enjoy the relationship between the socially obligated but financially betrayed duke and the peer repulsed, criminal family shamed auditor. I particularly valued how the struggle and hunger of the former criminal trying to go straight cousin was portrayed. There was great detail and realism in his character that felt true both for that time period and today, as those who were incarcerated struggle to rebuild their lives.

Interesting story!

For the most part, this story was very enjoyable. Our heroine became somewhat stupid around chapter 14. Nice ending, although we never found out what became of the cousin.
