Iraq War veteran Kelton Jager and his ex-military working dog Azrael have evaded Virginia law enforcement and slipped across the state line into North Carolina where they’ve been passing the winter in seaside Pony Beach, laying low, and doing odd jobs for an aging widow. A spate of gruesome murders and a teen girl’s abduction then coaxes Kelton to his civic duty of assisting the small sheriff’s department with desperately needed K-9 support. However, the longer and closer Kelton and Azrael work with the lawmen, the more Sheriff Boxer and his posse ask uncomfortable questions of Kelton’s past and wonder who they’re partnered with. If past vigilante deeds are uncovered it will be the end of Kelton and Azrael’s freedom, yet a young life will be lost to the horrors of sex traffickers if they cut and run too soon.
