Before dropping some hints about what is to come in this amazing and very sparkly first volume, those who have no clue who I am...I’d suggest you go back and listen to the previous series that is graciously named after my Agency, otherwise... Well, frankly, you will be very confused. If confused is your way of life...carry on, I shall not judge!

Now, the story picks up months after the end of The Undead Detective Agency, and my crew is dealing with the aftermath of...well, you know what. So, of course, I, the loving, amazing boss that I am, decided that it was time for a vacation—a fun duck-related vacation. And after hinting at resorting to possible friendnapping, I got my way!

But can I, Octavius, have a single day off without someone dying?! No, apparently, I cannot! So, cue multiple murders, long-time grudges, a baffling level of incompetence, and me facing down the ultimate enemy in a battle of wits...and glitter. What more is there to say besides...let the chaos begin...again!

duck-themed chaos

New adventures for the Undead Detective Agency characters. They’re back with ridiculous duck-themed shenanigans. Murders abound by the very incompetent baddie. I appreciate that we get a look back into the lives of Octavius and Min-ji to fill in the histories and understand both better. Lance West audio performance is fabulous, adding depth to the experience. I can’t imagine reading these in an ebook now, and I highly recommend the audio experience.

Vacation Time.

Octavius takes Turney, Scarlett, Min-Ji and Theo on a vacation at a duck themed park, but ends up with dead people popping up. Someone is trying to kill Octavius. Of course the gang figures it out and captures the killer.

I really loved this book, and the audio made it even better!

Octavius’s newest hyper-fixation

I love being back with this crew. They’re as silly and ridiculous as usual. Octavius finds a way to mix business with pleasure and drag everyone else into trouble, only this time it involves an excessively themed resort and convention.

The narration is a good balance of differing voices without overacting which I appreciate. I would recommend reading the original series first.

Loved it

I loved this book. Lance West's voice really brings this story to life. Octavius Evander and his friends are back. After dealing with some unpleasant events what else is there to do but go on vacation to a duck-themed adventure park? What could possibly go wrong?

They're Baaaack!

It's great to be back with this group and in this world. It is so much fun to listen to with a great world filled with fun a quirky characters. While not 100% necessary to read the original series, I recommend it since there might be a lot of background confusion otherwise. I can't wait for more books and audiobooks in this series and by this author.

Lance West performed this narration so well. The characters were truly brough to life.

Story is a 10!! Narration is difficult at times for sensitive ears

Story

This story is an amazing continuation of the Undead Detective Agency cast of characters. It has a nice focus on the aftermath of book 5 and the emotional toll it’s taken on everyone. While at the same time it maintains that Shelby Rhodes humor and hilarity. I truly loved it. Water Parks and Dinner theatre and so many more things to just be happy about in this story. Can I PLEASE go lazy River/bumper boat/watersliding?

Narration

Here I just want to give a heads up to any sensitive listeners out there. If you are neurospicy in any way the narration might frustrate you in some parts. The word ‘guillotine’ is mispronounced many times in a way that made me flinch and the cute and adorable bat voice that Octavius has in the books gets turned into a kind of horrible facsimile of a 90s cartoon villain. The rest is pretty good. But man was it hard listening to my adorable Octavius’ Peter dwarf epaulette bat voice become what it did. The rest was great it was just those particular moments that were difficult.

They're back! I've missed them so much 💓. Hearing some of the back stories are great. Introducing a bigger picture with the Reapers is going to be interesting and hopefully how shall we say retribution balancing for all the people they just leave in the bad situation and eventually die instead of helping. The cute factor is off the charts 😸. The laughs are continuous. Octavious is off the hook 🥰💖. The gang is working well together and becoming a real family. #glitter&plushies. Hugs and Kisses Octavious, Turny, Scarlett and the rest of the gang til next time 💋💖❤️‍🔥🧛🧟‍♂️🧟‍♀️

Adorable Antics!

I am so happy to be back with Octavius and the Gang. Not so sure how happy they are with trail of bodies that has joined them. I enjoyed this real murder mystery vacation with some of my favorite quirky friends. The mystery is exciting and a bit dangerous while still having all the odd and fun moments with everyone. There is gore and glitter galore! Octavius is just too adorable with all his antics! And I have to mention how much I love Alex and Theo. Lance West brought out all the personalities and help build the world vividly! He is going to rock this series!
