A retired law enforcement officer turned pilot and a former math teacher chose to leave their home in Texas for a cabin in the wilderness of Alaska. They left life as they knew it behind to start fresh in the land of the Last Frontier. Their cabin on Cub Lake was only accessible by bush plane in the summer or snow machine during the winter, making life challenging. They knew their learning curve would be steep. While enjoying the majestic nature surrounding them, they also learned to work together like never before. The two of them have dealt with everything from crazy chickens to bears, and ultimately even looked death squarely in the eyes. Throughout it all, Ann knew there was no place she would rather be than with Shon when he suggested, "Follow me to Alaska".

True Emotions and Adventures

The author truly wrote the bad and the good about moving to Alaska off the grid. Good writing, the author makes you feel you’re in the story.
The hardships, the laughs, and community.

I was mesmerized by the entire book. I love faith based books and this one, by far, did not disappoint.

I loved the entire book. It was so hard to pause it when I had something else I needed to do. Can’t wait for more of Ann Parker’s books.

Good story, written well

First and fore most don’t be turned off by the biblical references. They are lightly scattered throughout and in my opinion a vital part of the getting to know the main character.

Secondly; enjoy the autobiography of someone who dared to do. From you’re armchair go live in the wilderness where dependence on utility companies is replaced by dependence on neighbors.

Lastly; support a good read.
