entertaining

this was an extremely entertaining and well written book!! I very much enjoyed it. The characters are so good.

Amazing

Flameskin was absolutely amazing! I loved the way the author told the story, showing two different perspectives. There was such a brilliant mix of action, romance and political intrigue. I also thought the author did an amazing job at handling some controversial points and offering sensitivity to some hard situations. I adored the listening experience and cannot WAIT to get my hands on book two!

Extremely entertaining

I do have to say this is a very original take on magic and fantasy. Loved it can’t recommend it more

Surprisingly Engrossing

I started listening because I needed something to fill a TBR gap. This is a really good listen! I am all in. Worth the listen/read.

I prefer strong female main characters

I don’t understand why some authors provide the female MC with awesome powers then make them weak and not able to stand up for themselves. Great narration though.

Love the narration

I actually backed Camille on Kickstarter because the covers looked cool. It was a bit rough at the start, but I have already finished book 2 and am dying to know what happens.

not cohesive enough

The two stories are not really entertwiening or have anything to do with eachother...I kept waiting for it to happen and there is a moment where the lives cross paths but that is it. The ending was also not an ending, so I am unfulfilled on several levels.

Nope...won't do it.

Another story where the strong and gifted are suppressed into believing they are weak and are shunned for their strength.

I never got stories that go for this premise. I really don't.

So its no surprise that our heroine is imprisoned and could free herself at any time, if she wasn't so weak-willed. SMGDH. She can burn armies away in a fight but has no courage to face the one regular guy who backhands her every now and then. "Somehow" her fear of him is too great to overcome, so she remains in chains and lives in poor conditions.

I won't waste 11 more hours of my life on this. NOPE.

Cringe-worthy, overly dramatic character voices

I struggled to get past the first few minutes. I felt like I was a child at the library listening to an exaggerated reader do terrible and over-the-top characters.
