Hank Ballard, worn down after trying to eke out a living in the big city while single handedly raising his small son, is shocked to discover that no one seemed to be expecting him at the one place he had been assured would be a safe haven for himself and his boy. Arriving early in the middle of a snow flurry he discovers that only one person seems to be willing or able to welcome him to the big ranch and Fiona’s kindness to both him and his son works its way in to his tired, world weary heart.
But will miscommunication, false expectations, and a lack of understanding of the workings of the heart keep them apart?

Fiona's Story
I really enjoy this series and look forward to more. Danni is great storytelling and this series is great! I was wondering what Fiona's story would be like after being introduced to her in book one.
Maybe it is my problem, but I found John Been to not be the best narrator for this story. He was okay, but I was hoping for more character "acting" than he did. Again, it just maybe me. Don't let this keep you from getting this great story though! :)

Excellent story Poor Reader
I love the book but could not stand the mispronunciations of several words. He calls Nona noona, Brion, the Irish spelling of Brian bree-own and halfway through the book calls Fiona’s nickname of Fi (fee), Fie. It drove me nuts.

Fiona by Danni Roan
The story was sweet and thoughtful. It did warm my heart. My only comment was the narration which was good however could still improve.
