Resumen del Editor

Craig Beck is one of the fittest, healthiest and most toned people you will ever meet. So why is he known around the world as ‘Fat Guy Friday’?

In truth that’s exactly what he used to be.. a big fat guy! Until one day he said enough is enough and broke the cycle of yo-yo dieting that had plagued his life.

On Friday 10th September 2010 he stood on the scales at a depressing 252 lbs. He was the heaviest he had ever been, something as simple as walking up a flight of stairs would leave him gasping for air, he struggled to play games with his children and was the most miserable he had ever been.

A former hypnotist, Craig knew that problems in life are primarily the result of dysfunctional programmes running in the subconscious mind, which are creating the very things we are unhappy with. Whilst he was building a system to deal with his own ever-expanding waistline he discovered two common traits shared by virtually all-overweight people. By removing these two secret problems he found that no matter who tried his system lost weight. Better than that, at no point did any of them report being hungry, irritable, or unhappy during the process.

In Fat Guy Friday, Craig pulls no punches and delivers a wake up call designed to change your life for the better, forever! The two reasons why you are overweight. Why every diet you have ever tried has failed. What the diet industry doesn’t want you to know. The secrets only slim people know. How to lose weight and feel great without feeling hungry, ever! Feel better and more healthy than you ever thought possible.

To the Point

Would you consider the audio edition of Fat Guy Friday to be better than the print version?

Well spoken and written. I never get tired of listening to this guy. He has a good energy about him that makes this easy to listen to again and again.

What does Craig Beck bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His Attitude

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed at the situations described because I have heard them all before. It helps to be able to relate to what you hear from other people. While the concepts may not be entirely new, the medium in which they were presented makes it a pleasurable listen.

80% same as his other books

I love how funny and informative craig can be but does he have to say the same things over and over again. I was like following a comedian on tour, no new material.
Now I blame myself, I really enjoyed Control Alcohol so I bought this right after. Listening to two in a row was hard to take when the content was practically identical.

A Must Read if You're Overweight

Any additional comments?

There is nothing worse than picking up an audio book, putting on the headphones, and realizing the narrator's voice is about as exciting as watching paint dry. Craig is a master at narrating and it truly comes through in his emotion throughout the book.

I have studied nutrition for years and spent over a decade in industry. What you will learn in this book are the facts. The truth about what you are putting in your mouth and why your waistline is responding to it. If you think about all the poisons in our country and the world, and the booming pharmaceutical market, any rational mind cannot help but come to the conclusion that not only are we getting fatter and sicker, but those things are in place by design.

Why is 80% of our super market (probably being charitable here) "food" that comes in a box? PROFIT. It has nothing to do with keeping you alive and nourishing you. In fact it's causing a slow death.

While Craig may be slightly redundant on material with this and his other books as some other reviewers have stated, I can only ask "How redundant can you get with the fundamentals of your brain?". Repetition being the mother of skill, when you get Craig's books and listen to them you begin to connect the dots and start seeing how our minds actually work.

By losing weight using the techniques in this book, and learning exactly WHY you got that way in the first place, you're going after the actual cause and not the symptoms. I know several people who got lap band surgery that are now the exact same person emotionally, with the same beliefs, just in a smaller body now. Pity they didn't get a hold of this book first.

If you're a drinker, don't expect to get this book and still be able to have your "healthy" two (or more) glasses of wine per night. If you read that and the first thought that came in to your head was "Oh I have to have my wine", then you have a drinking issue. I only say this because I too believed it. I think Craig is a gifted individual who goes after root causes and tells it like it is. This is difficult for most people to grasp, as they are so conditioned for the quick fix and the easy way. And with so many mental distractions in the world now and it only going to get worse, you'd better grab hold of your thoughts and get control now.

Yes!

I know his plan works. All the things he says about wheat, rice, pasta, breads is so correct. If you turn your head around and can look at these differently than you have since your birth, you will benefit by keeping fit, loosing weight, feeling great and...probably living longer to enjoy the new you! Best wishes.

A great, good and poor book all in one.

Here's the thing. I'm a huge Craig Beck fan. Listening to his book, "Alcohol Lied to Me" is the single most important step I took to stop drinking. I've also listened to "Swallow The Happy Pill." and for the most part, I liked it, but I felt it was fundamentally flawed in it's approach to theology. (You can read my review of it on Audible.)

Fat Guy Friday is another effort from Beck that draws HEAVILY upon the writing he has done in earlier books, which means there is only a little new additional material here. With that said, much of that additional information is pure gold for anyone who wants to lose weight.

Unfortunately, there's not nearly enough of it. For example, he talks about getting a scale and a body fat meter, but he does not talk about how to graph your results or how to interpret them. He does not talk about plateaus or the problems one might encounter. And he only glosses over the truth of weight loss: that it takes months or years and a total commitment to a change in your habits and lifestyle.

Plus he only spends a few minutes talking about what he eats on his "diet." He talks about how important it is important to reprogram your subconscious to stay away from wheat and other simple carbohydrates, yet there are no hypnosis tracks on this recording to help you do that (He instead tells you to buy his book, "Subattraction Weight Loss," which contains 39 minutes of content, only nine of which is hypnosis tracks — one would think Craig could have just added those tracks to this book, but instead we have to spend more money.)

He also suggests we buy his other books throughout this book. Especially "Alcohol Lied To Me." The result is Beck jumping back and forth between trying to convince you to stop eating wheat, to trying to convince you to stop drinking, to the dangers of smoking and so on. If I were Beck, I would write a whole new book for people who are fat drunks who smoke and leave all of that stuff out of a book for people who just want to lose some weight.

Speaking of spending money, Craig also says that in order to make this program work he recommends that you sign up for his Fat Guy Friday club online which costs $29.97 for the first month and $19,97 a month after that. I don't have a problem with Craig Beck getting rich while I get thin, but the whole thing does sort of smack of hucksterism. I expected more, especially after the success I had with "Alcohol Lied To Me."

For someone who really wants to lose weight, here is my suggestion. First, buy this book. Listen to it. Then buy the book "Why we get fat" by Gary Taubes. Listen to that. And then listen to "Wheatbelly" by William Davis. By now you should have a really good understanding of what you need to do to lose weight. If you are rich, by all means spend money on Craig's online club. If you are not, find a friend who also needs to lose weight and do it together. Support one another. Better yet, do it with a spouse or significant other and the benefits will be even greater. Good luck.

Two thumbs up

Between this and “This Naked Mind” I stopped drinking almost overnight. No cravings, no meetings, no judgement. This after a forty year relationship with alcohol.

Listen to it.

Paleo Life Style

I have been exercising the Paleo Life Style for 5 years. It is a life style that will change your life in many ways. Healthy digestion, sleep, energy, sex life, skin ,blood, urine and attitude.
After 45 days you will understand what I am talking about. Craig would probably not recommend that you can cheat every once in a while with out consequences , but I have with no problems that I have noticed.
Go for it, you will be glad you did.

A half paragraph spun into a book

A simple idea that goes on for too long, and should you choose to put this into practice you need to purchase another book or the course he offers. Not really fair that all this is is a pitch for another purchase.
