Time for fun comes when the jolly tin peddler visits or, best of all, when the fair comes to town.

This is Laura Ingalls Wilder's beloved story of how her husband, Almanzo, grew up as a farmer boy far from the little house where Laura lived.

I love this books and all of the other books in the Little House series! I listen to this book every night before I go to bed so I have heard it probably a dozen times!

I love this book! Almanac is rather glutinous though. And in one chapter he says GIT-ap instead of giddy-ap. And it's rather annoying hope she says ALMANzo.

Speechless

It's nuts how much I'm loving these books. I am reading these for the first time--zero nostalgia factor. I'm loving them! If this is how my parent's generation sees the recent past, then I can understand Conservatism. I'm not excusing hatred or bigotry of any kind. I'm only saying these books make me more inclined to act with grace toward those who see the past differently than I do. I'm enamored.

Wonderful Book & Performance, Excellent!!

I had this book read to me in the Third grade…. I loved it then…..and I loved it even more now. I’m now 75 years old. The narrator, Cherry Jones, is so pleasant to listen to…… so much meaning in here expressive voice.
