One of my favorite books now

The story and plot was good! You get another story within the story of characters from the past that keeps you in suspense waiting til it goes back to the past to see what happens! I fell in love with the characters. I would recommend this book. If you are reading reviews to see whether you want to listen to this book DO IT!

Excellent plot with unexpected twists. Great characters. This is my first book by this author. I'll look for more of hers in the future.

A memorable book!

This book pulled me in so much, I got through it in 3 days. Every free minute I had, I was listening . I enjoyed the narration and style of the book. I enjoyed the characters, the cultural reflections, and the journey with them through PR. My beloved island.

Best Audio book I’ve listened to in years!!

Wow! This book is beautifully written. Her development of likable main characters who grow and mature supplemented by minor characters who add depth and insight to the story are brilliant. This author is really special. The audio performance was excellent. This is the best audiobook I’ve read in two years, a real treat.

A great read

I was sucked into the lives of Gabriela and Isabela and I couldn’t get out of it. Not that I ever wanted to. What a sweet story.

Kept you engaged, waiting about what clues meant, etc.

The story was a little bit convoluted for me going back-and-forth and refusing to believe for the storyline. But it sure kept me engaged. A good book
