Meanwhile, a beautiful woman has returned to the Keys on a manhunt of her own, distracting Jesse with the idea that he could finally leave his warrior past behind. The prospect of finding lost Confederate gold, several high speed boat chases, and dodging demented killers, won't stop Jesse from revenge. Surviving a powerful hurricane puts everything on hold as a top secret government agency tries to recruit him into their fold.

Incredibly Disappointing

I think this book has that "idiot's plot" thing going where nothing can happen or make sense unless everyone is an idiot.

I mean. The main character only has to repeat what he did in the 1st book, and everyone coulda lived happily ever after, but no.

These aren't regular ole schmucks either. They're supposedly special forces with decades of experience. Unfortunately, these can't plan or think 5 minutes ahead with any semblance of sense.

I realize this isn't supposed to be profound reading, but everyone in the story can't conveniently be an idiot because the author needs something to happen.

Ending is supposed to be tragic, but I found it hard to care about the characters since so much is the product of their own stupidity.

Disappointed

The story initially was good and entertaining but as the book progressed it became less so. The narrator does a terrible job. He has a nice voice but his character voices need work and he sometimes sounds like he is reading not preforming. I do intend to listen to book three but will be doing so with no expectations.
