Belladonna’s back

Leanne Leeds has written a great series in the Silver Circle Cat Rescue Mysteries. I so enjoy having recurring characters and new ones to each book. The Cat Cafe setting lets me envision so many details. Although each book is a standalone, I have enjoyed the series from the first book. Meghan Kelly continues to perform these books exceptionally well. She adds the right inflection to her voice to convey “cat attitude” perfectly.

Suspenseful

Control, greed, and jealousy were prominent motivators in this highly suspenseful story with twist after twist. Just when you think you've got the answers there was more to be revealed. They way the answers were teased out piece by piece and still some things were held back. Like a good magician, a good mystery leaves you wanting more. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a great job bringing the characters and story to life.

Homicide by Fruitcake!

Ellie and Evie Rockwell are in Tablerock, TX for Christmas at the Silver Circle Cat Rescue. They are doing whatever they can to find some cats their forever homes, but that falls to the wayside when the town's librarian is found beaten to death with a fruitcake. Alice Grey was an unassuming soul, but you know that assuming doesn't get you anywhere. She had a secret life, hidden well by her profession, and now it's time to get to the bottom of who wanted her gone. This is similar to a cat and mouse game where you are sure of the answers, just to see them slip away. Evie is the one in the bunch who has the foresight to analyze the situation and follow new clues wherever they go. The mystery was interesting, just a little far-fetched, but that's what made it perfect! Meghan Kelly is at the top of her game and I always look forward to her narration. Each character has a unique voice and she is able to infuse a depth of emotion to make them come alive. With this story, she meets and beats my expectations. 

Enjoyable Cozy Mystery

This was another great addition to this series all the great characters and critters are back. This time it's holiday season and another murder and an orphan cat that just might be able to help. Meghan Kelly always does a great job with the narration. I highly recommend.

Who Was Alice?

This time the story takes place at Christmas time, Ellie and Evie are trying their best to find forever homes for their rescue cats and looking forward to the Holidays. But now they have to take on another because Alice the much-loved librarian has been found bludgeoned to death with a fruitcake so the Silver Circle Cat Rescue takes in Alice's marmalade Ginger.

But Ginger refuses to help find the killer he won't tell them anything about Alice as he has a problem with the police even if it means the killer gets away. But whilst on the magical plate, he revealed things that shocked Ellie and Evie and made them wonder who Alice Grey was really. There was more to the quiet, beloved librarian than they imagined. Will Ellie and the gang be able to unravel all of Alice's secrets without Ginger's help before anyone else gets hurt?

I so love this motley crew, especially Belladonna who seems to be mellowing.

Leanne Leeds has written another entertaining clean mystery which is beautifully narrated by Meghan Kelly whose voice is perfect for all the different characters both human and feline. I love how she brings depth to their personalities. I love listening to her she seems to add a certain something making the stories even more enjoyable.
