However, the audiobook was obviously a rush job as the editing was no where near as good as the previous two. Numorous time during the listen, the wrong character would speak, and at least twice lines were duplicated. The flaws distracted from a cool story enough to be a little irritating.
Best of the series, bad editing was distracting

The narration is great the production and multiple voices really help bring the story to life.
Fun Book!

There is also a brand new character thrown into the mix and her introduction chapter is nothing short of amazing.
Together these two characters make the book something really special for me - I've read it at least 3 times already. I'm impressed that Clines has managed to keep this trope running for so long while keeping each book fresh.
I do recommend.
Two Amazing side stories really prop the book up

This book is as good as the others so if you enjoyed them then keep going with this. The growing cast of characters are handled well with enough time given to almost everyone.
I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series.
Another solid entry

The Ex series has a very original premise - superheroes against zombies, this way you wont loose your beloved characters to the mindless horde of undead.
That is a good thing and bad too because that worry that the next mission will be your last is absent. That I can recall no main character has died in the series.
Some characters simply disappear though, like the "Driver" from book 2. He was one of the main reason they were successful escaping from the base but simply is not mentioned in the book.
Another thing that strikes me is that it appear that each book is planned when the author starts to write it. Like he was not planning to write a second, a third and so forth.
But overall is a good listen. The narration is awesome.
Nothing like a good zombie apocalipse

I've already read Ex-Purgatory, the book after this..
Keep it up, Clines!

Why? Because nothing really happened. The book was spent exploring the characters' relationships with each other, more than interacting with the outside world. Also... the bad guys seemed like they were tacked on. We start the book with Legion - ohh... very bad - but then we get the demon appearance and Legion just sorta fades to the background. The reason for Legion's end-story acquiesance doesn't ring true, especially considering how focused on rage he was in the first of the book. And I don't really believe the heroes' naivete that led to the freeing of the demon in the first place.
The existing main characters were still there, and a couple were added, but... some of the previously added heroes (Driver) were just cameos here. There was a little bit of mystery around Corpse girl, but it didn't go anywhere in this story - I am hoping it will be further developed in the next book.
But, even so, it was a great series and now that I see there is another book in the series, I will go get it!
Narration is excellent, there is no gore or significant violence, and any swearing was not excessive.
Back to good, which is good too...
