Acerca de esta escucha

The spectacular fifth adventure in the genre-busting Ex-Heroes series.

The heroes are overjoyed when they discover another group of survivors living on a manmade island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. But there's something very, very wrong with this isolated community and its mysterious leader - a secret that could put every survivor in the world at risk.

Peter Clines wrote another entertaining "EX" book. Love the humor. Love St. George. Recommend series.

Great continuation of series!

New and old villians, new and old heroes, and still a whole lot of zombies.

We get some glimpses of the early days of the settlement. All in all it is good to be reminded not only of what everyone is trying to do, but also how far they've come.

Most folks probably focus on the superhero aspect of this series, and rightly so. But I'm always struck at how the environment, I.E. the zombies, is the real, constant threat.

I'm noticing some narrative drift. It's minor, but I'm not feeling a sense of progress within the mount yet. They are making progress, but I'm feeling a sense of stagnation within the mount itself. Civilizations usually go through such things, so I don't think it's major. However I'm hoping for a breakthrough by the society itself. I feel like it is a payoff that we've been waiting on the story to deliver. I don't think the author is unaware of it, and I may be getting impatient.

It feels like the characters are still largely reacting to their circumstances. This installment tries to address this with a sense of philanthropy toward other survivors. I'm still left wanting more of...something. Safety? Rebuilding? I'm not sure. Something that feels like they're heading toward a permanent resolution to their circumstances. An Ex-virus vaccine would fit the bill, but that may just be wish fulfillment.

I have faith in Clines to deliver, though. He has every single time so far. :)

A Worthy Addition

I like the author is taking us out of LA on a more frequent basis with the characters we love. This is a fun addition to the Ex Heroes series!

Interesting New Twist

I really enjoy this series. If you have ever enjoyed comic books, like x-men, x-force, etc., I don't see how you can't enjoy this series.

stumbled across Peter Clines one day with Ex Heroes. I enjoyed this series very much.

fantastic find

the story was really good, if you've made it this far in the series, you know what you are getting. There's one major plot hole early on, but I could get past it.

For the first time in this series, they brought in additional actors to help with the various voices, which was great, but they kept either forgetting which actor did which character, or not realizing which character was speaking. This caused the voices to be inconsistent, which made it hard to keep track of who was speaking.

Good Idea, Poor Execution

once again its awesome with two or more voice actor. This book was incredible yet a bit more predictable in comparison to last in the series. still had to add to my library audible and paper back

awesome new arc

This book features a lot more details about the Corpse Girl and Barry and Cerberus/Danielle too. Lots of interesting stuff, and already looking forward to hearing more about the next one! Great narration, character development and more twists and insight into the Ex-Heroes and their world.

Would love to hear more magical sorcery stories and maybe some new superheroes too in the future, (although this new character in this book was cool too!).

Another great book in the series!

I thought this was a good next book in the series. The changes in perspective were swift and confusing from time to time but over all I enjoyed it. I like that the characters are both superhuman and frail in some way. I like the continuity and evolution of thoughts and concerns. I like the post apocalyptic use of both zombies and superheroes. The sense of humor is engaging and the writers style is easy to follow. It is definitely light reading but if you like a combo of dark humor and post apocalyptic writing, give this series a try.

Good next book

In this Ex instalment, the Mount is having food shortages and start a farm in a dangerous and underguarded place dubbed Eden. However, something seems a little off about the place. Meanwhile, St. George, Zapp, and Corps Girl travel to a newly discovered island made up of connected boats. The people on the boats seem aggressive towords the heros, especially when George introduces himself by his old hero name, the Mighty Dragon.

I really liked this book, especially after the last book. Not that Ex-Purgatory was bad, just that it was a little experimental. This is a Peter Clines Ex story we are used to, and that's a good thing. things tend to get a little confusing during the end when both situations at Eden and the island go crazy at the same time; there is a lot of jumping between the two. Still a good listen.

The performances were great as well. the only odd thing was during some flashback moments when the wrong actor voiced a character they do not usually do. It is not often and usually it's only a couple words, but it is noticable.
