A Fabulous Book

This was an incredible book; well-researched and marvelously told! I highly recommend this book!

Outstanding Sub Story

If you’re a sub guy, this is a must. A superb true tale worth your time.

This story just gripped me as it progressed.

Like many World War Two books, this book is about the men even if the title doesn’t display that fact. As the book reveals the intense seriousness of the submarine service in World War Two this author writes in a way that also ramps up my interest and tension as the story unfolds.
I have heard of this submarine before. So glad the author could write this book about the boat, the men and their survival including how returning after the wars end, each of the survivors cooped or didn’t.

Dang!! Why didn’t I know about this!?

Amazing story!!! Why didn’t I know about this!? I may listen to this again very soon. I’m a huge Alex Kershaw fan, but for some reason, this one had slipped me by. If you like war stories that are true and especially those about submarines, you will like this.

Gripping real account!

Loved the story and would listen again, but I'm surprised that the narrator didn't make any effort to pronounce the Japanese city (and site of a major US base) of Yokosuka correctly. It was so off that it was jarring every time.
