Resumen del Editor

Miss Harriet Hancock enjoys playing the role of eccentric heiress, using her wealth and influence to cleverly and anonymously better the lives of those in Newmarket. Though she keeps people at a distance to protect a years-old secret, when her friend pleads for help on a personal project, Harriet can’t resist.

Stable hand Jonas Fitzroy would do anything for his twin sister, even if it means seeking out the woman whose meddling ways have made him wary and suspicious. The last thing he expects is for Miss Hancock to request his help in writing a book. Intent on revealing her underlying plan, Jonas agrees.

As they work together, an unexpected friendship forms. But when things for once don’t go according to Harriet’s plan, she’s left wondering if good intentions might not be enough. Is there a way to mend the broken pieces of her life? And will Jonas give her another chance at his heart?

Honesty or Little lies?

Be honest or lie to make someone feel better? That is a big part of this story. I think
Harriet's little manipulations of the truth were okay. She was making things better for the people around her. I liked how Jonas called her out on some of the bigger things and made her think about why she really did what she did. I also liked how Harriet made Jonas think about his life too.
I loved the whole story! I would have liked to have seen some things happen sooner than they did and possibly a bit more near the end but I can't say exactly what without spoilers.
I read and listened with Kindle and Audible versions.

Best of the series

Usually, when I read a set of three books, I find that the first book, the book that hooks you into the series, is the best of the three. However, in this case, I feel that the first two books were written to have the last one complete them and be the best, I enjoyed this book immensely it’s a must read for people interested in romantic Christian stories.

Sweet & Unique

Jonas has always seemed to be a bit of a mystery since the previous book in this series. And Harriet just seemed to be an incredibly quirky individual. This story reveals not only hell I lovely relationship comes to be but also peels back the layers of the individuals so that we can see them for who they really are - even as they learn to know themselves and one another. This was a lovely story, well now read it, with a very beautiful ending.

Wonderful characters and wit!

I absolutely loved the book. In an age where action and rapid screen changes are the norm, this slow-burn story is a refreshing reprieve. I loved how the characters took center stage rather than over-the-top plot. The realism was excellent, and, in spite of the historical era, shed light on the experience of many couples today.

Hunter's Best So Far

All of Hunter's books have been good, but this one is my new favorite! Love the development of both main characters and the fact that the romance built slowly over months instead of a typical meeting, falling in love, and getting married within a few weeks timelime.
