That’s the flummoxed state of Edward Stanton, a 42-year-old with Asperger’s syndrome. His job, his therapist, and his best friends are all gone. Even his nightly ritual of watching Dragnet reruns has short-circuited.

But a call from his friend Donna in Idaho, telling him that her son Kyle is in trouble, launches Edward from his rigidly scheduled existence in Billings, Montana, to the open road. He and Kyle, a sweet little boy turned sullen adolescent, debate football, music, and bodily functions (“Why do you pee so much?” Kyle asks). All the while, inspired by dreams of the past, Edward tries to make peace with his life - and when he meets an eccentric motel owner, perhaps open it to love.

I found this interesting but not as compelling as the first book. There was FAR to much of the "Edwardisms" that we're clever in the first book and far less development of new characters.

It's a " have to hear" if you've heard and appreciated 600 hours, but I suggest holding expectations down. Luke Daniels got a bit campy with some if the narration I thought.

Still worth the credit just to hear the final outcome of Edwards story.

Not quite as gripping as "600 hours"

Edward is a 40+ year-old with Asperger's. He is high functioning, and has high self esteem. The compulsive traits of his Asperger's comes through and it's hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing. There's a coming of age story within the story. Not sentimental. Great Book.

Loved the first book, 600 Hours of Edward, and didn't wait to purchase the next in the series. Well written by Craig Lancaster and wonderfully narrated by Luke Daniels, it kept me fascinated from first to last. I love the character development of Edward as the years have passed since the end of the first book. And now I am on to the third book in the series.

A Winner

This book was the sequel to 600 Hours of Edward, a book I greatly enjoyed. I didn't think it'd be possible to like this one as much. I was surprised to find I loved it even more. Edward, who is autistic (Asperger's?) grew so much and learned how to deal with whatever life threw at him. Sadly, I don't know that Edward is going to be a series, but I wish it was. It was hard for me to tell him goodbye! Book boyfriend!

I'm definitely on Team Edward

A book that engages completely. A non-normative mental processing style in a protagonist who is truly likeable despite tendencies that I would normally think of as frustrating. It helped me see people with Edward's processing style in a new light - really, to see that my thought process is really almost the same, it just seems different on the surface. A heartwarming story with rich, believable characters - and frequent moments that made me smile, laugh, or rethink. Great narrator as well.

Exceptional
