This book is a heart pounding, tear jerking, and fist pumping book-all in one!!!!

WHY ISNT THIS BOOK MORE POPULAR?!

I've re read this book so many time in the last year and I cannot express how soul wrenching beautiful this book is.
I laughed, I cried, and even screamed once or twice but will never stop recommending this book to others. I still find myself months later thinking about Pixie and Gaze along with all the other Pixie Ray's in the world and am baffled that this book isn't more well known!

Amazing story

Narrator’s were amazing! Pure and genuine love. Open and honest, tough love. Best book I have listened to in a long time.

Love love love

I loved this book. Amazing emotional rollercoaster. A perfect story. Definitely a coming to age with very realistic criteria.

What a coming of age story!

Pixie and Gaze meet when they're eleven. He just moved to the building across from hers. She blows bubbles through the window and he shoots them back at her. Both of them have complicated life situations and pretty soon they're best friends, looking after each other. One day, when things go really south for Gaze, Pixie has to make a choice: her safety and his trust or his life and future. She doesn't hesitate: she choses him.
Years pass and Fate always has a way to bring together people who are just meant to be. But, will Gaze forgive Pixie for betraying his trust?
This is an epic love story. A coming of age tale of people destined to be together but who have been handed a shitty hand by Destiny, Pixie is adorable and you spend the whole time trying to jump into the book to protect her. You root for Gaze too and hope that the life in a way gifted to him by Pixie will not be shattered by the past coming back to haunt them.
It's sweet and heartbreaking and when everything comes together at the end you let out a huge sigh of relief as no one deserves to be happy together more than these two.
Note: Gaze's new family is just EVERYTHING.
Narration: Narrated with so much heart and emotion by the incomparable Rose Dioro, who brings all of Pixie's badassery and vulnerability with perfection. Benjamin Charles has one of "those voices": it's warm, soothing at the same time bringing all the feels in his performance.

Perfectly beautiful

This book had me enamores from the beginning. From the characters to the storyline, it painted a picture of real life struggles and strength to fight back against the demons that haunt you. Simply breathtaking.

Excellent book

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Highly recommend it. Will read more books from this author.

Beautiful flowers blooming in a dung heep

This is not your run of the mill boy gets girl, boy looses girl, boy gets girl back story. These two young people find each other and recognize a sameness in each other and form a soul bond. It is not based in lust or any kind of romantic love.....well......not at first. If you listen to books for swoon worthy romance and lots of sex. This is not that. Now if however you like coming for age stories with nuanced, layered, and rich characters who fight their way out of the hell that life can be and emerge not unscathed but whole and together then I encourage you to buy this book. The story is well written and gives all the feels. The narrators were not my favorites but they do a respectable job.

Phenomenally written

I absolutely looooooved this book! I want to immediately re-read it and quickly download the next book. You will devour this, promise.

Heartwarming

It was real and terrifying. These are real life issues that are overlooked everyday! Thank you Pixie and Gaze for your fighting hearts!! Wonderful story!!!
