...as the first two. can't wait for Leah to grow up and fight the "icky" men.

Another good read! Narrator was excellent and I’m on to the next in the series.

This series is the BEST!

Book 3 of the series and this reads like the first - non stop action. I’m hooked! Can’t wait for the next book!

the pattern of campbell’s writing shows drastically here, faux tension and extensive sequences of repetitive action make this the weakest entry by far. most zombie stories have a point where they reach the “humans are the true monster” thesis, and they all have a sort of similar approach in doing so. it’s the walking dead. 28 weeks later. mountain man. any zombie story wherein the survivors form a harsh militia.

i’d be more inclined to enjoy this if it wasn’t clear that the author really only wants to tell half the story — any & all of your favourite characters are not going to be covered here, in favor of a classic rescue mission tale through the lens of a character that’s not very interesting.
