Resumen del Editor

Gotrek and Felix Audiobook 4.

A journey back to civilisation is interrupted when Gotrek, Felix and their companions encounter a creature of myth – a legendary dragon! Caught between that flying rock and the hard place of an army of orcs, things look bleak....

Listen to it because

It's Gotrek and Felix vs a dragon, in one of the series most widely acclaimed entries. A dangerous race against time, multiple enemies and uneasy allies make this a true classic.

The story

Gotrek and Felix: unsung heroes of the Empire, or nothing more than common thieves and murderers? The truth perhaps lies somewhere in between, and depends entirely upon whom you ask.

Gotrek and Felix head back towards the Empire aboard the arcane dwarf airship Spirit of Grungni. Tired and wounded from their adventures in the Chaos Wastes, the intrepid duo look forward to seeing friendly lands once more. But darker forces are at work and when a violent storm blows them into the Worlds Edge Mountains they disturb a deadly creature of legend which guards a vast golden hoard. With an army of rampaging orcs behind and a wrathful dragon ahead, things look bleak for Gotrek and Felix!

More! GIVE ME MORE!

For the glory of Grimnir please don't stop! I have listened to every single Felix and Gotrek book and most assuredly will listen to the next book. These books a fantastic but painfully short and the time between new recordings is equally as painful. Beastslayer is next in line so get on it Mr.Keeble!

The stuff of legend

How many trollslayers does it take to take out a dragon? Been meaning to read Gotrek and Felix for a while, but I’m glad I saved myself for this version. High fantasy hack and slash adventure at its finest.

Amazing series

If you like warhammer fantasy this is easily the best series ever penned and the audiobook does an exceptional job of bringing it to life

Another great Gotrek & Felix hit

Picking up right after the previous story, this novel ends up being something of a bridge between Daemonslayer and Beastslayer.

While not bad by any stretch, Dragonslayer certainly seems "lighter" than your typical G&T story, with lower stakes and a greater focus on character building and lore exposition than any particular challenge. Of course, there is the giant dragon that needs slaying - but compared to the looming threat of Chaos as established in Daemonslayer and which the audience is constantly reminded of throughout this book, one big beastie can seem a little underwhelming as a result.

What it lacks in raw drama, Dragonslayer makes up for with some fantastic character work - side-characters from Daemonslayer are given increased focus and personal stakes, with a few rather tense moments of conflict and some interesting insights into the way different cultures and classes of people in the Warhammer world view themselves and their places in it. In particular we get some great looks at the nature of wizards in the Empire, and some cool sequences within Karak Kadrin - the city of Slayers.

Along with this sojourn in Slayer Keep, we get an appropriate look at other slayers beyond Gotrek. The sheer variety of these characters is amazing, and reminiscent of some of the more entertaining aspects of the Nights Watch from A Song of Ice and Fire, exaggerated and given extra flavor by the ridiculous quirks of dwarfish nature. As is appropriate for a novel that takes place partially within the capital of all Slayer culture, the Slayers themselves are probably the best part of this book.

Dragonslayer is fun and will likely keep you invested on into the next novel. While lacking some of the meat which makes the other Gotrek & Felix books amazing as opposed to merely entertaining, its issues are one of lack of content - a sense of wanting to see more - rather than the quality of the content not matching its own set standards.

Check it out if you've come this far. The Slayers are worth it alone.

Another Winner

Duh, what were you expecting? Another well done chapter in the saga. So far the author is doing a good job of balancing a difficult journey without making the lead a Mary Sue.

Solid, not great.

This book is suffers from the previous and following books in the series being much better.

This one isn't a bad listen, it's just the other two are much better overall.
it's good, just not quite as good as the other six.

Another one down.

Been waiting for the next book to release on Audible so I could use my credits. Jonathan Keeble, once again, delivers the dialogue and tone of the book quite well. He really nails the part of each character and helps to distinguish them with accents and such. There are many new characters in this book so it became a bit hard to remember who was who. With that, the book is great and even has some funny, more interesting moments with some new characters that I really ended up liking a lot. Without getting into spoiler territory I'd definitely say that this is a very good read and continuation of Gotrek and Felix.
