Love Jasper and Lyndee!

Jasper and Lyndee were in cooking school together and always fought with each other.  Lyndee opens a bakery across from his burger place and when he finds out, he thinks she is up to something.  Jasper helps Lyndee move some things in her store before she opens with some of his friends he owns his burger place with. As time goes on and Jasper sees Lyndee helping her brother out, he starts to fall for her.  I loved this story and all the characters in it.  I can’t wait for the next story in this series.  Lexi Evans and Scott Rose did an awesome job with the narration.  They put all their feelings into the characters and made it enjoyable to listen to.

Sweet and Heartwarming!

This is the second book in the Burgers and Brew Crüe Series. Jasper and Lyndee's story is sweet, fun, engaging, and heartwarming. They are perfect together. The supporting characters are great and interesting. I liked Lyndee's brother. Lexi Evans and Scott Rose did a great job bringing these characters and this story to life. This is a beautifully written enemies to lovers romance. I enjoyed it. Looking forward to listening to Same Ol' Situation, the next book in the series. #PFPAudio

Always fun watching grumpiest guys fall

Jasper and Lyndee have history, but never expected to see other again after college. Maybe fate had a hand? How else would they end up with businesses across the street from each other? It's always fun to watch the grumpiest 'no time for love' guys fall hard, and this story didn't disappoint. Lyndee turned Jasper into a sweetheart for her. Her brother also had a significant role that made the story that much better. Narration brought these characters to life from the pages.

Terrific Story & Narration🎧Gripping & Heartfelt!

Lacey Black pens another fabulous novel set in her “Burgers & Brew Crue” series and it is great to be back in the wonderful world she created and spend time with the equally wonderful characters. Burgers & Brew is a bar restaurant owned and operated by a group of four friends, and they plan on opening a brewery next door, so it is an expanding business. Each book in the series features different lead characters, and their stories stand on their own, but characters crossover into each other’s books and knowing their backstory adds depth to the story. This second book is Jasper Kohlmann’s and Lyndee Gibson’s story, and it is a story that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. Jasper is a chef and the kitchen of Burgers & Brew is his domain, and he takes his dishes seriously, creating gourmet burgers and sides. He is tough to work for because he expects perfection, he reminds me of a celebrity chef who is always screaming at contestants competing for prizes and a chef position. He is the type of person you hate to love and love to hate, and he could definitely be a jerk, but he is a good friend to those close to him and has some redeeming qualities. When he sees a former classmate, one he butted heads with, is opening up a bakery across the street, he jumps to the wrong conclusion and almost proved to be the ultimate jerk, but had second thoughts about his actions. Lyndee and her younger brother, Dustin, who she helped take care of growing up, moved to Stewart Grove for a fresh start, pursuing her dream of owning and running her own bakery. Jasper stops in her bakery, Sugar Rush, to see what was up with her, and while he still held a grudge about losing a baking competition, she thought nothing of it. The one thing that was for certain was the chemistry between them, it was electric and undeniable. Any tension between them gets broken when Dustin jumps in and asks for help, and the other guys from Burger & Brew offer their help, too. It was great to watch Jasper and Lyndee first fight the chemistry and then give in and get to know each other better. Lyndee has not had it easy lately, but she is determined to get her business off the ground, and her brother is there to help the best that he can. There is never a dull moment in this book, and the story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. The writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Lacey Black, thank you for another wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Lexi Evans and Scott Rose did an amazing job voicing these characters, humanizing them with their personality and were believable in their roles. Evan was fabulous in Lyndee’s role and delivered a perfect portrayal, sweet, determined and fierce, and Rose was just as fabulous in Jasper’s role, with angst and attitude, as well as his caring side. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters too, including Dustin. They set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two made a great team, with voices and talent that complement each other and an entertaining performance that takes the story to another level.

If Gordon Ramsay Was A Book Boyfriend

Jasper is touch chef that will get you hungry for more than a good burger... although he'll make you a good burger, too. This was a fun and relaxing listen with a mild enemies to lovers trope. Jasper and Lindy went to school together, but took different culinary paths. When she moves into a shop across the street from his high class burger joint he gets all jealous. He's got everything you generally want in the alphahole kind of book boyfriend. He's a hardass in the kitchen, believes he's always right, but... he's a big softie for the girl next door even though he really wants to hate her. She's adorable, bright and vibrant, and all the things he needs to soften those jagged edges. It gets spicy toward the end, but the build up of that tension is swoon worthy. The anticipation is top notch.

One of my favorite things about this story were the cast of supporting characters. Jasper has a host of really great friends who call him on his nonsense and encourage him toward loosening up enough to let love in. Lindy has a brother with a disability and their bond is really lovely and supportive.

The narration was fantastic and really enjoyable. Scott Rose has a gorgeous smooth voice that you won't want to stop listening too, and Lexi Evans brings emotion and realism to the characters too.

Enjoyed this one! I really like these guys and what they have started. In here we have Jasper aka the Kitchen Chef and Lyndee aka The Bakery Queen facing off. They have each have fire in them. I really liked the addition of her brother and seeing his growth through the story was thrilling. This is fun and has great get togethers along with “Bro advice”. We get a bit more sneak peeks into Jameson and Isaac’s lives so I am excited for the next! Lexi Evans and Scott Rose do a nice job on the narration.

Mad because Feelings!

Jasper and Lyndee were in culinary school together. They had an interesting relationship since they had different life goals. Lyndee was more interested in baking and Jasper was more into entrees. While there is a lot of tension between these two it's more about fighting emotion because Jasper doesn't want to "feel". I really enjoyed Lyndee's brother's part in this book, I think that his relationship with Jasper and his friends was a redeeming point. I might not have loved this one as much as book 1 in the series, but I still enjoyed it. I do enjoy a good grump though. If you listened to book one, then I think that you'll enjoy seeing more of the characters that made an impression.

Written in first-person POV, set in a bar/restaurant, co-owned by friends … and the vibe was set, just like that!

Girl moves in nextdoor and sets up shop in her new bakery—also really fun vibes. I had to set this down to run some errands before I was even through chapter one and I realized I was already missing it!

Disability representation (cerebral palsy).
Rivals-to-lovers.
Major miscommunication.
“Girl next door” vibes.
Circle of friends.

Overall:
Super sweet read. The ‘gesture’ was a little underwhelming, since he caused the thing in the first place, and it was a bit anticlimactic but a fun read. Left me open to more from this author.

3.5 stars.

Don't Go Away Mad is the second book in the Burgers and Brew Crue series. Lyndee and Jasper went to culinary school. They were the best of enemies. Now several years later Lyndee is ready to start a new life. She moves to a new town and has finally opened her own bakery. Jasper is the co-owner and chef of Burgers and Brew right across the street from Lyndee's new bakery. This is a great second chance romance.

Lexi Evans and Scott Rose did an amazing job narrating this book.
