A Creepy Adventure!

What made the experience of listening to Doll Bones the most enjoyable?

Not quite knowing if the ghost was real or not, and in the end, leaving it up the reader to decide.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Poppy.

The characters in Doll Bones reminded me a lot of myself when I was there age. While I was never into action figures, preferring to act out stories with my body, my friends and I were always played by making up worlds and stories. I was the oldest of the group, but like Poppy, I never gave those stories up. My friends changed, becoming interested in boys and while I pretended to be like them, my mind was always lost in a story, and it still is, only now I write my stories since adults never want to play unless it's LARP or cosplay, and those games have too many rules. Plus, I've always been a bit of a loner.

What about Nick Podehl’s performance did you like?

He had a great range of voices, making them all sound unique.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but there wasn't time for that.

Love Holly Black as an author and after reading The Darkest Part Of The Forest I was excited to read another book of hers. this was cute. a tad spooky at times as well.

it was a good story although I was left with a feeling of needing more.

Good Story ok quality

I enjoyed the story and Nick Pedehl was awesome as the narrarator but their was occasional skipping thst became more frequent towards the end of the story.

Good and sweet book, but...

I loved this book! But the beginning could be better. I read this book for school and I was so bored at the beginning that I didn’t start it until a couple weeks before school. But then it got more and more interesting and I got hooked! All and all it would be 4.5

Kinda creepy, very fun

Perfect middle grade balance of friendship, ghost tale, adventure and reality. As always, Black hits the right notes in her characters dialog and relationships.

Coming of age story

I loved this book! The main characters go on a quest to solve a spooky mystery but really it is a quest about holding onto childhood and imagination while also growing up.
