Have you ever taken notice of the soft, delicious glow of a chocolate bar left too long in a car during summertime? Or perhaps the way a candy Easter Bunny gets “all over everything” if held too long between bites? All chocolatey and messy, but tasty and fantastic. I remember how unwilling I was to stop until all that sweet, brown goodness had been fully enjoyed. This collection is filled with those types of remembrances and the feelings they evoke.

Beautiful
Davis of the deepest chocolate is a tasteful take on the beauty of blackness with each word encouraging and empowering the black woman. Black women of all ages should stop and listen, every word is a compliment to black skin that every black woman should hear. How often is she praised not enough but here you are filled.

Easy listening, and good poetry.
I enjoyed listening to Ned’s work, as I prefer to listen to poetry more than reading it, and this didn’t disappoint. His work was even-tempered with some explicit appreciation of the black female form, and was easy to listen to.
