swing and a miss on a good concept

this book does a fantastic job of identifying intellectually engaging ideas, but the author never explores any of them. we just stay on the surface of a superficial story following an intriguing plot. characters with histories and experiences but no souls. a narrator that judges without any philosophy.

i will readily give this author more of my attention and check out her other works. she has promise.
