Great Series... But

Love this series. It's really good. All the ones after, everything basically. The "but" is actually pretty exasperating. He does a really good job keeping politics and political opinion out of the stories. But this one... The T.D.S is strong. It's just in one part but you can tell he wants his character to be the Orange Devil. To the author, I'm not a fan of the guy either. (the person hes talking about. if I name him my review will get lost). I'm not. I think you should at least get an opinion that isn't biased. Get educated. Have enmity for someone for legitimate reasons. Not made up children's stories on television.

What about Anja of two days ago??????

Hate time travel every one forgets if you take some one back in time to yesterday and leave them there you’ve create another Anja.

But other then that plot sink hole it good listen.

Can’t wait for more

Such a good series so far. I love the antihero. The humor is great and the story is just awesome. Amy McFadden does an awesome job as well. The characters really some to life. I could see this being a great movie. We need a great antihero movie (Venom doesn’t count 👎).

Progressing past initial development

This book is starting to get into the meat and potatoes of the overall storyline i think. We move past Dires original "newborn" phase where shes trying to figure out her surroundings and making relationships, into her setting, and trying to accomplish, her goals. It was pretty well written and i really like Dire herself. Shes uncompromising and refuses to accept the status quo and conform to the ideals of the labels they put on meta humans. Either hero or villain but both are majorly flawed so she stays true to her own ideals and trys to fix what is broken with society while punishing the wicked who deserve it in a way that heros would frown upon. That being said these books are a little dark and gloomy and dont have much in the way of uplifting content. I enjoy a good story as much as the next man but you've gotten balance it out with some lighthearted good stuff and not be so heavy handed with the negativity. Just my thoughts. Maybe im more sensitive to such things than the average human but if things dont get a little more hopeful in the next book im out.

incredible book! Awesome characters, great story, cool superpowers but the best of all is Dire, she is great!

A solid follow up to the 1st book.

I really loved the character development in this book. It's a interesting parallel universe and I'm excited to get book 3.

Fun, but still issue with enough stakes

Two books in and the Dire series is fun, but it keeps having issues keeping the stakes high. I can't say why without spoilers, but Seed has the mirror problem of Born. In Born the story is low key for much of the book, but comes together at the end. With Seed, the intensity is high for most of the book, but is undercut by a downshift for the conclusion. Ultimately the Dire series comes across as more of a Day-In-The-Life type story. Still... Dire: Seed was entertaining, so it earned its 4 stars.

I kinda want to voice my opinion of one part.

one scene in the book jumped out as really unnecessary and soured the otherwise good experience I've had with the series so far.

Why did the author have to make a character that appeared for a very short while, who was total scumbag evil PoS, as they usually come, to be so heavily referenced with the MAGA quote when describing the character?

He could've been just another nameless politician who has done bad things and hides them from public, which he was, but then author decided to pick on real life politics and make it seem like Dire is going to kill the previous president of USA or his supporter.

Surprisingly, I liked this one.

An interesting twist on the post-apocalypse narrative. Struggled at times with the narration and characters... but a good listen.
