Expressive Narrator, Exceptional Story!

This story is a top-notch fantasy adventure, among the likes of Garth Nix and Brandon Sanderson! The narrator was an engaging reader. My only minor qualms with the performance were occasionally not being sure which character was speaking because of similar voices, and the rare mispronounced word. Notwithstanding, these were minor distractions. The story was excellently portrayed overall and I was immersed in the incredible world Olsen has created!

Loved the story and development of characters. The narrator was not my favorite, but she was good enough to get me through the story.

Fantastic Book

This book is amazing, it is one of my absolute favorites! This was my 3rd time through and it still moved me.

I struggled with the readers voice at first, it just didn’t seem to fit the characters to me. However I turned the speed up a notch and it seemed to smooth things out and I was able to enjoy my favorite book. The author is able to achieve so much in the book. The dragons are so interesting to me, I just love how it all comes together. The concept is brilliant. Highly recommended.

Loved the dragons.

This is such a great book. I love that it had all of the normal elements like dragons and kings and servants but it was all imagined in a new creative way. I love how the dragons were portrayed and the powers they had. I can’t wait for a sequel.

Fantastic! Well Crafted Story

I grew to love and care about Alskan as she made it through her journey. The story was so well crafted I audibly gasped at multiple points in the story because I was so drawn in. I highly recommend, I wouldn't listen to it with young kids are in the car though, there is drug usage. Great story!

Excellent story!

I loved this story. At first I wasn’t sure about the narrator but she grew on me. Only comment to improve would be sometimes I couldn’t tell who was speaking because some of the characters sound very similar. I would recommend this book to people who like fantasy and fiction stories, ages 16+. Overall it was such a fun ride. Loved this book.

This book was a really amazing book!

This is a good book, but at the first of the book I was annoyed with the characters decisions but then she started making better decisions and I was happier with the character. I know the author did that to make it so you were happier when she started making the right choices. So good job to the author! I like how the author made up her own words to explain what the dragons did like for instants she called turning from human form to dragon form “flashing” and I thought that was a really good way of explaining it. I thought the magic was cool.

Absolutely brilliant!

This book hooks you in from the very first chapter and doesn’t let go. I found myself going back to listening every chance I could (sometimes in the middle of the night because I had to see what happened next). The story is original and creative. I love the details the author wove into the book and the narration was spot on. This would be a great book for older kids and adults as there are references to drug addiction and sex slaves. Overall it’s a terrific story!! Read it! Listen to it! Buy it now!!

Compelling world, story, and characters

Staci is an expert with words! Her characters were complex, and the story was thorough, compelling, and clever, with surprises aplenty. Few questions went unanswered. It read like a guilty pleasure, and did so without vulgarity. I really enjoyed listening to this book. Lisa's narration was flawless!
